I could use an Arduino or get a switch which turns off the GPS at a set voltage but then I would still need to turn off the GPS to stop the battery being discharged to minimum every time I don’t use it.

For you, lot’s of things :kissing_heart:

I figured it out! Had to put the sim in a regular phone and disable its PIN code. Now it works!

I’ve done exactly that

I don’t have a smartphone. I assume android and ios would allow you to disable your sim card’s pin code tho. Well Apple might not, but :man_shrugging:

Wait you don’t have a smartphone?

We’ve found a unicorn, friends.

I don’t know if you are able to disable a sim pin code, I think its always there.

Windows or Symbian?

Yeah I see that, I wonder if you maybe can’t disable it with carrier ones vs prepaid ones

…why

At this point they’re a bio-mech addition and you’re at a disadvantage without one

Which makes it all the more dangerous to rely on one.

I’ll get a Librem 5 or something eventually, but for now I enjoy living life on hard mode.

Anyone here know how to configure an APN for the GPS tracker from this thread?
Using any app or method that will work, I dont care. I have a sim coming for it and the makers told me if I can figure out how to configure an APN for the tracker, they’ll help me out in making the sim work with it

From the manual:

#6666#sapn#apn name#user#password###

For example: #6666#sapn#CMNET##### if user name and password are blank, Or #6666#sapn#CMNET#AA#123456### 15 Set APN #0613#sapn#apn name#user#password### ,# can not be missed

You kinda lost me
Where would I use that coding?

Edit: you have a manual? Could I get a digital of that? If it’s not too much work

You send an sms message with that content to your sim’s phone number. The first part (6666) is the configured password for your gps tracker (default one is 6666), then sapn is the command name to set APN, for apn name field you enter the APN name I suppose? CMNET is for china mobile. And then username and password for the APN.

I linked the manual a few posts above:

In the examples they keep changing the number of hashtags. Do they have an importance in quantity?
