Yeah, I ended up deciding on them even though this build isn’t going to be going for absolute all-out power. I actually figure I’ll only be using about 5 amps per cell while cruising, but I wanted to be able to do 25 amps per cell max. Maybe I missed an option, but there doesn’t seem to be much better, even for those relatively low requirements for an eskate, especially if you don’t want to pay twice as much per cell. High power cells have taken off in terms of how much power they can put out, but there isn’t a whole lot as far as medium power cells that have come in to beat them when you just need a bit more oomph than energy cells can provide.
hello all, i’m actually looking to buy myself… Brand new to the forum and could not figure out how to make my own post at all. From Pa usa. looking to pick up my first high end board. Prefer at LEAST 1300wh. 4wd or 2… gear before belt. must be able to take bindings. price cap $2k. thanks …
Are you looking to buy a prebuilt board from major brands or a used board from this forum?
Yeah cause I was supposed to get like around 34 miles with my pack with 60wh/mi. But I was only getting 28 miles. I also only set my battery amp at 70A per side but I only hit that if I do a full launch, so realistically my amp draw was quite a bit lower than that. Which shouldn’t had sag the pack too much with a 6p P45b.
BAK45D is a great cell.
The A04 is the top tier grade, averaging between 4560 and 4600mAh. Mooch even tested samples that exceeded 4600mAh. It’s a solid performer.
18650bs currently has an offer on their A02 batch, and honestly, the price is great. I can’t match that with mine because I paid more for the A04 grade. My advice is to grab them while you can. It’s a great deal.
The BAK45D is rated for 600 cycles according to the datasheet. You can find more information on Mooch’s Patreon.
If anyone wants a free month on Patreon, I still have a few trial invites left. Just send me a message and I’ll give you one. I have around 10 to 15 left.
Just Like the others said. There was a small deviation in batches and one of them only tested good up to 250 ish cycles after that they started to drop more capacity then usually. But personally nothing to worry about. None of my packs has yet seen 250 cycles
If someone is interested in batteries, the latest and greatest in both power and energy cells, and is not already one of Mooch’s patrons, and then also does not take up Nelvick’s offer of a free month subscription to Mooch’s Patreon, then that someone is being unwise in the extreme.
Mooch is testing the Tabless Reliance RS40, and RS50 right now.
The Reliance RS40 has been tested at 40, and 100 amps.
It is a beast.
30 day countdown.
Exciting time to be a battery nerd.
Might be worth checking out Mboard’s inventory. They have dropped a ton of per-owned inventory over the last week or so.
They say that they are not genuine samsung in the comments
I’m trying to find some used 3 link trucks if anyone has any to sell
There goes my chance at selling mine for $40
