Go-FOC DV4s/DV6s/D100s<FREE SHIPPING!>

Awesome, thank you! Have you tried building / running the firmware on DV4s?

I havenā€™t. Any specific reason?

Just curious, if someone has verified the files / pin definitions are correct and firmware works as expected.

Hi, Looking to order DV6S so doing a quick sanity check.

Got the esc in my shopping cart with makerx bluetooth module. I do use uart remote so having bluetooth module and remote, Do i have to play around with splitters or do soldering or all gonna be plug and play?

Thanks

Nope thereā€™s 2 ports for all your UART needs!

And if you ever need more UART just get a uSplit

Thanks for quickly clearing this up, Ordered :innocent:

2 weeks later the DV6S arrived. Pulled out my old and trusty focbox unity and plugged everything in. Bluetooth module goes in, Remote receiver goes in, Power button goes in.

I run motor detection and everything goes well. Remote does not detect board (vx2) but paired (receiver has constat blue light)

I did set it from always on to button and power cycled.

After that only one side detects, I go to the site and see this:

Did i just kill it? You reckon the other side wakes up after firmware update or somethingā€¦
Also sorry if this is the wrong place to troubleshoot lol

You can save it by plugging it into USB, the 5v will wake it back up

Hauled the enclosure and esc in to my room now. Letā€™s see how it goes.

ymmv, this has worked for me in this situation with a d100s once

Vesc tool finds the other side after the power button failure, But flashin firmware i get ā€œerasing buffer failedā€

change the CAN ID of the side youā€™re currently looking at. App settings ā†’ general
just add 1 to the current value, then try to scan can bus again

I got both escā€™s to show up!
Great succes.

Next the original issue: VX2 remote connects to receiver but shows board battery at 0% and throttle does nothing. Tried swapping TX and RX wires already

the way you avoid the canbus oopsie from happening again is making sure to press READ every time you switch between canbus escs because vesc tool doesnt always automatically read. Then change your settings and write.

Is the VX2 set to FSESC or VESC mode? Not FOCBOX mode.

Yea lesson learned big timeā€¦
It has FSESC and FOCBOX modes, Tried both already.
Remote does pair (receiver gets stable blue light, blinks when i turn off the remote)
It gotta be some small thing i have overlooked for sure

Really Stupid question/post timeā€¦ First of all, this is my first time dealing with Esk8 ESCā€™s and VESC.

I have a DV6S which connects via cable to VESC but I have to use my work laptop, which obviously isnā€™t ideal, soā€¦

I got a Bluetooth module - BKB board with Skylab SKB369.

Can I just plug this into the port near the left end (under the MakerX name)?

If so, does this then result in being able to connect via Bluetooth to VESC on my mobile?

This was the outcome I wanted.

If not, can you please let me know if that is possible and what to do.

p.s. Everything works fine at mo, just want to be able to change/check things easier. Taking out 10 screws and having to use my work laptop if I want to check anything is a bit of an a***.

Cheers All

It should only fit into 2 ports, which are your UART ports on the vesc. They will be the only ports with TX and RX pins.

Yes, though mobile vesctool is more limited than the desktop version.

While yeah that is a process, you shouldnā€™t have to do it more than once or twice ever. Once the esk8 is working to spec there should be no reason to alter the settings.

Additionally, as I mentioned mobile vesctool is worse than the desktop version. If you want reliable access, a usb extension to the outside of the enclosure is a good method.

Mmm, ok. Thereā€™s 4 wires, just look a pic and zoomed in:

Module - TX, RX, 3.3v, GND

DV6S - The port has these listed, so presumedly it would just plug in and work, butā€¦

Understand re the App not being great.

As for settings - Used to race RC, we adjusted settings very regularly so just wanted to see if things were similar, adjusting accelerating & brake curves etc

You will also need to set the vesc itā€™s plugged into to enable the UART port by setting input to UART or UART+PPM in the input tab

for your average daily rider, i agree. if youā€™re racing, not so much
