Have you found a way to make the editing window smaller again?
Can you also please look for an option to make gifs Autoplay again?

bump on this as it’s impossible to put quotes where you want without having to copy/cut and then paste them again.
Quoting always puts it at the bottom which is quite annoying.

Discourse automaticaly converts gifs to PNGs or JPEGs or some dumb shit when you paste the image. I don’t know why, and I don’t think there is a fix yet.
That’s not a problem I’ve had so far.
The problem I’m referring to was that you need to press play on a gif to make it play.
Test
E: this seems to autoplay (downloaded file)
not on my chrome tho
That’s not something I have to do. I can see spaghetti arms all day without having to press play. Check your browser preferences?
Well it seems that google is the culprit.
When using chrome it doesn’t Autoplay
When using kiwi (chromium based) it does.
Problem is that i have to use chrome for it to install this forum as an app instead of a webpage (WebAPK). Exclusive feature that google won’t make available otherwise.
So far all other settings between chrome and kiwi are the same, so not sure what could enable it.
fuck google. You give google the finger and I’ll stand right behind you, cheering you on.
So apparently the fix for the gifs-automaticaly-turning-static-when-you-upload-them issue is to turn the setting “png to jpg quality” to 100, essentially disabling resampling to a lower quality and therfore leaving the gif alone.
i just tried it and it didn’t work. I may restart the forum to see if that helps, but i think I’d rather just wait for the next update which will also restart the forum.
these are the important decisions.

I would even say:
Fuck the gifs for now and fix the editor window.
I’m on mobile Chrome and my gifs have been working fine. Maybe it’s @xsynatic’s weird German interwebzenschprekkens
The one Damon posted.
The first one is still, doesn’t play when clicked, and downloads as a jpeg.
The second auto plays for me.
Samesies?
Because it is a jpeg.
The real gif (2nd image) requires a tap from me.
So deleting chromes cache makes the gif play auto play for about 50% until it stops again.
Refreshing the site afterwards and it doesn’t do it again until you delete the cache
I don’t think this is a forum issue. Its more of a browser one. There’s no fix for it as far as i can see.
