I tried to start a post for the VESC Tool archive, but the same limitation that was happpening last night is happening now. I tried uploading the same 42MB .exe I did earlier today and it gives me an error message. The smallest file I get an error for is 10,274KB and the largest I can upload is 9,536KB

yeah i think the max upload option in the web server’s config are set too low still. I’m planning to run the latest update this Sunday morning and will make that change then as well since you have to restart discourse for it to take effect.

I’m not sure using the forum as file storage is a good idea. If that becomes the norm, at some point to save space, we will end up pruning and that will leave dead links, etc. I think external storage is a better answer. I have cloud storage accounts available if needed. I typically use DropBox, its not very feature rich but it is dependable. But I have Amazon S3 and Google Drive and a couple of hybrid cloud options as well.

That’s why we use AWS. Anything uploaded goes to amazon’s servers. Cat pics, vesc tool, everything. Drop Box isn’t designed for mass file distribution.

Your call, just making a suggestion. DropBox for teams can support up to 600GB transfer a day, I pay for it anyways so happy to help. Whatever you wanna do is fine with me, happy to assist in any way possible.

That’s a fuckload of bandwidth allowance, tbh. I have dropbox pro too, just realized they’re “forcing” us into 2 terabytes next year. Clearly i need to take more pics of boards.

I did not realize that, the 2 TB thing. I typically use Google Drive for personal stuff anyways. If the price increases too much I might drop BropBox.

updates are done. Docker manager has been updated, discourse itself has been updated to the latest version and i also updated the config to allow max uploads of 100 megs for the wiki stuff, but we should keep it at 50 for now in the discourse settings since the focus was to keep an archive of the various vesc softwares.
