I usually do 3 coats top and bottom but the difference is in the brush. I have a good quality brush and I can lay down some pretty thiccc coats.
Thanks guys! I ended up going with some dichroic glass frit, hopefully it turns out the way im thinking it will!
Iâve contemplated this as well. Looking forward to the end result!
Strongly recommed a dust mask/respirator that seals against your face when you sand this stuff off. You really dont want it in your lungs.
I already have a quality particulate mask. I will definitely be using it.
Nice! Thatâs whatâs on my circuit board but a more opalescent version. Catches the eye really nicely in sunlight.
its all i use. Not just for locking frit, but for the rest of the board as well. Foam brush for smooth coats, bristle brush for coats on frit.
I do 2-3 coats then the frit layer
will polyurethane work? all home depot had was oil based spar⌠but they had plenty of the water based polyurethaneâŚ
Yeah it should. They should have the water based pro series. Sherwin Williams has water based spar.
I do at least one
I know it has been discussed before somewhere but I canât find it.
Which size of frit do you use if you want to be able to ride barefeet from time to time?
Also anyone bought frit on aliexpress? I am not in an Amazon delivery area.
edit.
just checked, fucking aliexpress is not really cheap
Depends, I ride my medium frit barefoot, but I tend to spend most of the summer barefoot so my feet are used to the rough.
I would say fine frit as its not too sharp and small.
I will probably buy a bit of fine and a bit of medium to try on some plywood first. Thanks.
Smart, barefooted you shouldnt be going so fast so fine grip would most likely be fine right?
Yeah I shouldnât
You mean grip tape? I wouldnât know how it compares with frit but if fine is like grip tape than it would feel great under the feet.
With the medium you can hit it with some medium/fine sand paper to dull it out a little bit to
I used medium on my board, no top layer over it, and its pretty sharp. I cut myself a couple times standing barefoot on it (I wanted it very aggressive). A top layer over the frit would help, and so would sanding. I would guess that fine frit with no top layer would be a good compromise so that you still have adequate grip when you ride with shoes on.
