Just seen that Flipsky is selling a new gear drive setup for streets on DKP trucks. Specs look to be a bit underwhelming, and possibly pricey for what it is… What are your thoughts?
Are the gears plastic?
It looks like the wheel gear is definitely plastic.
Interestingly, the motor gear is 303 stainless steel though; interesting they chose stainless over regular steel. I wonder why.

I am curious about how much noise this set up would generate. 5065 can get pretty loud. My understanding is gear drives can be noisy too.
Very interesting to see a chinese company coming out with a real gear drive, wouldn’t this be the first one?
I wonder if they will send me one to review 
just because I’m curious lol

They are helical drives, so probably less noisy than straight cut…
