Yea those are really good, loud but I think all small motors like that are. Maybe we could do a group buy and get them to make them?
On ATs a lot of motors get smoothed out a lot because the startup amps are much higher and the motor is geared down way more. If you run maytechs on street wheels is much more noticable
Dood. I would be all over that.
I never tried it actually.
In my experience, the Racerstar 5065, like almost every single other BLDC motor, eventually fails where the rotor interfaces the shaft, because it’s held only by tiny grub screws. They aren’t bad motors though, especially for the price.
Interested in hearing more about this, because I’ve had those motors fail in that same place and needed to add roll pins
That is awesome
So how about changing the grub screw to allen head screw?
That’s better, but a Dutch pin like this
is far, far better.
You can also use a 12.9 steel grub screw in this way to secure the shafts.
Do you have a photo? This provides a physical barrier to rotation, not relying on friction. Not anything like a grub screw.
Should in about 1-2 weeks. Should fit for jst 2.0 with no adapter.
Photos from my workplace?
Put some Loctite in and you’re good to go.
Like this.
You actually drill a hole and tap the hole to secure it.
Vesc FW5.x HFI enabled on the unity Its sweet as hell.
Perfect thread Was looking at new motors just now. Leaning towards SK3s cause I got them now and they work well. Would like a set of TBs but they will be 190kv
WHAT!? HOW!? I’m running the latest FW and can’t find that option. Wanna give me a hint
I’m using cheap 6364 190kv, the power is decent. Dust inside isn’t a problem until you get into sand. But if it’s regular city ride then no worries, just time to time blow a compressed air and you’re good. After some usage and maintenance can might catch some loose in shaft length axis, but it does not cause any trobule.
You need to flash the unity with the Vesc tool Was a bit afraid that it was going to be a mess setting up but was actually really simple
I got it working! Thanks!
There’s still a little bit of cogging but so much better than before.
Unfortunately this discovery has led to one less sale for a certain vendor since the only thing wrong with my motors was the sensors.
Fantastic post I was skeptical about the new FS 74, looks like they are almost there. I will stick to maytechs or TB. I had one of my FS 6354s fail this week. I suspect the sensors have a issue and needs new bearings.
