First build, how to connect wiring for flipsky vx2 remote to flipsky dual 6.6 200a

I’m waiting for my battery(12s4p) to finish dual 6374, build. I’m looking at new remote(vx2) and flipsky FSESC 6.6 dual 200a. the wire coming off of FSESC(3 wire) won’t fit remote receiver and wire harness that came with remote (4wire 5v,ground,tx,rx) doesnt have matching plug on FSESC. I figured since both are flipsky it would be kinda foolproof, but then here I am.

how do I attach receiver to FSESC? do I have the wrong receiver? wrong wire harness? the comm port will kinda match up, but tx and rx pins appear to be reversed.

this is my first build so please forgive my ignorance

Don’t worry about the top left piece, that’s Bluetooth. Only worry about the part that says “receiver” above it

You could have bought the wrong connector for the receiver. There are ways around it though. See if that picture helps at all

Also, the TX connects to the RX port, it’s supposed to be switched

In my very Ltd electronic experience my photos show that I can plug harness into port 2, but orange wire is RX and green is TX and at receiver end they are swapped. If I swapped orange and green wire it should work?

I’m at work, I’ll be getting out soon and I’ll take a better look at it

The more I read this harness may be for fsesc 4

The wide connector would go into your remote receiver.

The small one into the vesc. Let me get pictures

is this the one you have?

or this?

It looks like it’s for the vesc 4.12 although I think this can be fixed. On the 7 pin connector you have that goes to the receiver. At the very end of the wire, do you see those little white tabs that hold the metal piece in? If you use a flat head you can hold that tab up and pull the cable out. Then you slide it back in into the connector. Hopefully you could just match up the cable to the port

I have the one that is NOT plus

The small end matches up with receiver, the large end has the rx and tx wires reversed. I can swap those, but the diagram shows jumper wire going to rx and tx ports on slave side and another wire going to positive battery lead to read battery voltage. None of which are on my harness. Mine is just the two end shown in previous photos. I looked on flipsky site and they don’t show any wire harness options other than a ppm pigtail.

Thanks in advance for any help. I’m learning as I go.

Also, I was mistaken earlier. TX goes to TX and RX goes to RX. The wire that measures battery voltage litterly connects to the positive lead going into the vesc. I’m not sure if that’s what you are confused about or if I’m just confused lol

According to this diagram from flipsky website, though I don’t have mini, if I swap tx and rx pins will it work? It doesn’t show jumper to other side or a white wire going to battery cable

Ok, now I think I have wrong receiver and harness. I believe it’s for the fsesc 4.2

It is. you have V4 receiver harness. You need the V6 version

I’ve reached out to flipsky to ask 1. Are receivers the same for 4.2 vs 6.6
2. Are remotes the same for 4.2 and 6.6.

If so I can move wires around and make it work.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for your patience

Bro- I think receivers are the same but cords are not. Cables are esc specific. You either get a 4.x cable or a 6.x one.

The remotes are all the same, and the receivers are all the same. I has a fsesc 6.6 but I broke it while working on it so I bought a fsesc 4.12 (because I was broke). I cut the end of the connector off, switched some wires, and it works just fine

So yes, as long as all the connections match up you’re good. If you do go that route send me a picture of your connections and I’ll make sure it’s good to power up

These are the diagrams on flipsky site where receiver terminals are labeled differently, different pin positions and 5v vs vin?

5v is 5 volts output, while Vin is voltage in
