[EU] Custom Liion battery packs from Germany

Hi Simeon,

I’m currently working on my second project and I’m looking for a battery somewhat similar to this one: APS 8S4P

But this one is out of stock and as I’m from Germany, too, I’d prefer to buy it here with local shipping instead of the UK.

I’d need the following specs:

  • 8S
  • 65A continuous current
  • 100A peak
  • +/- 10Ah capacity
  • BMS for charging or discharging (optional with bluetooth and charger)
  • Length and width are less important
  • Height should be <25mm (if possible with BMS).

I checked the internet for suitable cells and I think the ordinary Samsung 18560 30Q would only deliver 60A in 4P…maybe the Samsung INR21700-40T would be more suitable with its 35A. In this case 8S2P or 8S3P might already be enough.

What do you think?

Thank you and best regards from Düsseldorf!

That’s mine :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I can confirm the high quality of the build. But actually I’d like to emphasise more how dedicated Simeon is to get you what you really need, if you don’t know it for 100%. He invested a lot of time advising patiently about necessary battery amps depending on desired motor amps, different cell types, BMS, ESC etc. and was completely open to any modification regarding layout, fuses, plugs etc.

I can highly recommend buying here if you want sophisticated advice, high quality build and if you want to support and get good old “made in Germany “ :hugs:

hell yeah 15S is gr8 on a focbox uno

it does die while i’m rolling back up to my house but it is a really sweet 120Wh ride.

no bms too because who has a 15S lifepo4 BMS… not me

Sorry to offtopic just love A123 cells GLWS! @Simeon

The way he worded it still mostly makes sense  the fishpaper is between the cells that are in the paralleled groups

Well it was a pretty ambiguous sentence. Depended on how you read it.

But thats perfect now .

Hello @Simeon
I can’t post PM yet.
I don’t have Instagram (account suspended) and to make things worse I tried to email you at eskate.dd and got a non delivery report. How can I contact you? I would initially be interested in 10s2p p42a.
Thanks

Thank you for posting those photos.

Finally! Someone who understands the importance of making sure all the battery wraps “face” the same direction.

If you’re going to make a great pack then ya’ gotta’ go all the way!

Onewheel XR battery rebuild with Molicel P26A cells for @exx

This pack theoretically can do about 50% more power than the original futuremotion pack while being safer too. The limiting factor is the onewheel bms which limits the current anyway. The cells have less voltage sag in general, tho.

pictures of the build process

Some critique about the FM pack and how this has been improved upon:

  • cells fit rather loose inside the spacers → added hma to reinforce those
  • mostly lacking fishpaper rings → added rings
  • balance wires directly on top of cells and crossing over each other → added fishpaper and routed balance wires neatly
  • uneven current distribution through nickel → did 6 welds per cell and improved nickel shape

This is a quality pack, it delivers its power very well, I can go uphill even on a low battery and it packs a punch well in the 30-40% level.
Thanks very much!

edit: show them my mangled BMS!
