Esk8supply direct drive Group Buy of 3-6 people USA (elofty direct drives)

I think so. I only use one bearing which was on the outside of the wheel. I thought the adapter account for the inner bearing but I could be wrong. I tighten the screw so that’s the how much of the adapter will go through. Maybe the side of the wheel is wrong and they aren’t symmetrical.

You are right, you only need one bearing on the outside. The adapter inner ring sits on the inner bearing side of the wheel. You can press fit it one bearing height deep
(it’s symmetric)

Hey dude, so the inside of a bearing seat on my otangs was about 6.9mm. The adapter part that sits in the bearing slot is like 11.5mm I think it was. So there should be a bit of space left.

Now this is my issue, the adapter replaces a bearing and is only supported by an adapter which is held on by bolts. This adapter sits way in front of the hubs and bearing doesn’t sound to great for it. Not to mention the bearing in the wheel is sitting half on solid axle and half on threads. I won’t be testing these for a bit but these are just the first things I noticed.

I feel like the adapter bearing could be shorter so that I could use the entire kegel shaft thingy and also the bearing don’t have to sit half solid half threaded. :man_shrugging:

But yeah new board looks sick. Can’t wait to test it.

Btw @Esk8supply what happened to these front hangars?

These look like the original drives

The ones these drives came with are little crusty compared to those.

So is it not possible to get them anymore?

No clue. I guess they replaced the CNC front trucks with cast trucks.

Those are from elofty. Our front hangers are different

Think they’d sell just 1 lol, I mean these will be fine at this point I’m gunning for looks lol. They just seem beefier. If not I’d probably get an evolve front hangar.

anyone who’s interested, I got my @Esk8supply ABEC adapters today and I can verify they fit (tight) original ABEC wheels and 2 out of 4 of the abec clone wheels!

Thanks, Nathan and @murdomeek for setting this up!

what type of connector does the motor have? I think it’s 4mm but I’m seeing like 2 different variations of 4mm bullet connectors.

Are these just work interchangeably? I’m just trying to buy the right connector for my vesc.

On mine, there are the first ones.

@Esk8supply and @murdomeek, I got my package and all looks good, thank you for making this happen and your patience!

However, I got three sets of Kegel adapters and one ABEC instead of two each. How can we fix that?

Like someone else mentioned, I also had a loose motor can screw. I guess I’ll just remove all and add them back with some locktite, so all good.

On a more humorous note - one (edit: wheel) was a bit dirty, but instead of a sorry note, it came with a single bearing… ^.^

why are they so goddamn expensive LOL. Mine wasn’t a lose motor screw but more like it can’t be screwed all the way in. With my OCD, I almost lose my shit.

BTW @Esk8supply you know what type of screw is that?

Yeah they are interchangeable. The ones we use are the more expensive versions, supposed to give the connector more contact patch. ( if that makes sense)

BTW, Nathan is sending me another pair of ABEC adapters (and bearings, didn’t even know they should have been included).

If anyone breaks a Kegel adapter, I have two spare ones. I am happy to pass it along!
