Shameless Plug, will be the first and last aside from my own vendor thread I will make soon. I have a team SKP shirt on my New website and would like feedback on the site and tips if possible. Please do not clutter up this thread as that’s not my intention. The front of the special tee he’s SKP and Mooney Esk8. Back is rocking SKP, Mooney Esk8 and Tomiboi. Thanks in advance fellas!

This might not be the best location for this request for help but I’ll try here and can be promptly told to piss off if required

@Tasventouras and I are having major issues getting getting our batteries sent across for esk8con. Regulations have tightened up and it’s a gamble whether or not they will get out of the country.

We are looking down the path of getting custom packs built for esk8con then leaving them in the US to be sold immediately after.

Tas needs a fairly standard built 12s8p p45b double stack. Power to both ends for 4wd with single QS8 loop key. This will no doubt be easy to sell afterwards.

Mine is very custom because of my deck/enclosure. A 16s6p p45b built exactly in the configuration shown below so it fits. Also power to both ends with single QS8 loop key.

I’ve emailed Jacob from M Boards who seems like he can help but not got a definite yet.

Any other battery builders in the US who may be able to build these packs fairly promptly? And then anyone keen on buying them after a weekend of racing for a discounted price of course. Even if we can leave them with someone to sell on our behalf afterwards and take a cut.

First hurdle is getting them built. Please feel free to tag any battery builders who may be able to help.

Try reaching out to

They will ship your packs but get a quote first. It can be pricey…if you chose the build route, find a builder asap!!! It can take time to make these things

looks like @A13XR3 also builds packs

and fedex ships batteries, i’d get a quote from them. there’s specific rules you have to follow.

We’ve recently heard some worrying things about about authorities stopping these dangerous goods packages regardless of courier. Apparently they all get processed through the same department (am i right @Tony_Stark?).

Yes, and UPS but both go through a particular department in Australia before leaving the country and it seems it’s very hit and miss from what I’ve been told.

Yes but these people have all the nesseracy certifications to ship lithium batteries.

It is no lo ger legal to ship a lithium battery without being fullt dangerous good certified for international shipments. You need something called IATA certification.

DGparcel specializes in this sort of shipping, they will be able to ship, but may be a bit pricey. Its worth an email.

DO NOT simply ship these yourselves! Without proper certification and packeging these will get flagged right away and they will be disposed of…ask me how i know

Yes , been hearing similar horror stories. Also, apparently there’s a risk of jail time if we sign a dangerous goods declaration without having done some 3 day course.

Yes. This must be it! 4 years jail is penalty

Yep. DG air freight is who we’re waiting for a quote from at the moment. Expecting it to be pricey but if we use say Fedex or UPS there’s a decent chance they will reject the package or go to DG air freight and come back with a $1k additional cost for them to do the paperwork anyway.

-Batteries must be sent at under 30% SOC
-Must be shipped in a UN certified DG box
-If contained in a device it must be physically unplugged from the device.
-Need cell safety data sheet
-You can’t sign a DG declaration form without having done a 3 day course otherwise you risk 5 years jail time.
-If the battery is over a certain wh then sea freight may be the only option.

Sooo yeah hopefully we won’t have to use lipos but that is plan B😅 Would mean no group rides

If you plan it right I’m sure some friends could lend boards
