I have asked Exway about the fitment of these tires on other wheelsets which pretty much drew a blank and wondered if either yourself or Tilo think that these tires will mount directly onto the Land-surf RS1 Wide Wheels (106mm x 53mm) as potentially a direct replacement for the RS Tires which come in at 165 x 62
I assume so, but a considerably more professional opinion from you guys could help.
@TZDKB if you’re back in London at some point and heading BC area - 4WD One, Dualities, I must pop up with a land surf in hand and drag slicks on a board
Rallycross (RallyX) is a fast-paced motorsport combining circuit racing with mixed surfaces (asphalt and dirt/gravel) on short, 3-minute tracks. Events feature multiple heats with up to 6–8 cars racing simultaneously, utilizing a mandatory “Joker Lap” (a slower detour) per race to create tactical, wheel-to-wheel action. It is popular in North America and Europe, often featuring Supercars, Modified cars, and Buggies.
Key Aspects of the RallyX Format:
Race Structure: Events are designed for television, featuring short, intense heats, followed by semi-finals and a final race to determine winners.
Surfaces: Tracks alternate between tarmac and unsealed surfaces like gravel or dirt.
Joker Lap: A crucial, mandatory, longer section of the track that every driver must take at least once per race, adding a strategic element for overtaking and positioning.
Event Timeline: Typically involves multiple rounds, with Qualifying Rounds (1–3), Semi-finals, and the Final.
Classes: Includes categories like Supercar, FC1, FC2, Open 2WD, and Cross Car.
Vehicle Performance: Cars are often 4-wheel drive with rapid acceleration.
For instance, the RallyX 2026 series features a structured calendar with events across Europe and North America, leading to a Global Final, notes RallyX.
I have a venue in upstate NY that has already agreed to hosting such an event as long as I can get it insured. Couple of months ago I spent a day calling around to get into and got nowhere. I need help with the insurance aspect.
I got a set and had it sent to one of my guys for testing. They do require different size rims. The tires are excellent! Better grip and predictability compared to both the Supernova and Linnpower racing slicks.
The different sized rim requirement is mind boggling to me. If these were developed ground up that seems like such a mistake. If they were adapted from something else I could see the reasoning.
Was about to order but now am going to wait and see if I can get a ride on a set before plunking down the cash.
If you have a set of MBS pro ii xl those can fit them, as they also have the 4" lip. You’d probably need the 3d printed wideners I designed for those hubs
A throwback to our first organized track race held in 2017.
Classes were AWD open, 2wd open and urethane.
I beleive Derek Masouli won AWD. 2wd was Me, and urethane slips my mind, @Titoxd1000 may remember. I’ll dig out the podium pic one day.
Ive been hearing they are the closest to BRP so far. I had high hopes for the supernovas but man they just become ice skates once a little warm and you’re pushing hard in my experience lately.
Im about to start just injecting glue into BRPs or something lol. (JK but man I miss being able to run BRP consistently.)
