@Rob, wear a dang helmet! Even a low speed fall can do permanent damage.
The worst injury I’ve had on an injury I wasn’t going fast at all. Actually, I wasn’t even moving I accidentally spun the motor up while holding the board and it cut my stomach 
But actually falling off a board, I fell off at 12ish unexpectedly and got a bunch of road rash/cuts. I came off at 28ish a couple months ago and I just stood back up and got on the board with no damage

as an aside EUCs are fucking gay… not that there is anything wrong with that if that is your predilection… but…
as a tool… a utility tool… esk8s are almost fucking unusable in the frontier… but a light-weight 6-8 mile range light weight utility vehicle that can drive almost over anything seems to be a very useful tool to have in my arsenal…

EUC’s can do basically the same as a one wheel. It’s not as light weight though, but that’s why you got a handle. It got much better specs. You can ride down stairs. I’d also go as far and say EUC’s are safer. EUC’s got a cutoff alarm that beeps like crazy when 80% of your power is being used. One wheels doesn’t have that.
One thing I really love about the one wheel though, is how indestructable it seems to be.
interesting question… I race bikes with less armor, but it is the operators decision… he’s fucking k00l as far as I’m concerned… but for me… a full moto helmet and a lazy-rolling hoody is enough for an esk8… if I’m going fiddy, and going to war… I have a full alpinestar set of leathers

I’m talking about 95.74% offroad at less than 20mph in BAJA… the frontier… a 3rd world country… I’m not giving up esk8… I’m adding a tool to my quiver…
EUC’s handle off road pretty well. And if you do some modifications such as new tire and pads it can become a tank. And why not have 3 times as much power for the same price?
I haven’t gived up on esk8 yet. Just haven’t ridden it since I got my euc

If there is any sort of mechanical or electrical failure on an esk8, you can roll it out 99% of the time, in my experience.
If there is any sort of mechanical or electrical failure on a Onewheel/EUC, you will eat street in 100% of my mental simulations.
(yes, I’ve actually ridden a Onewheel, and strongly considered purchasing one)
EUCs are for anyone who feels jumping onto a bike like this is natural
