Esk8 confessional

I used to like the camera video mode with embedded real time data. That was pretty cool. I’d be super happy to be proven wrong, but there’s no equivalent with Vesc-tool?

I don’t think there is, that is interesting, but I just don’t have an application where it would matter to me, even as a youtuber, I wouldn’t be using my phone to record anything while riding

Gopro + Metr data is what works for me, you can see that in my DV6 video

Only other reason I could think is to use the old HM10 modules

It’s crazy reliable and if someone’s board has og Focboxes on it and no new age tech then it’s a super easy and bulletproof way to tune and diagnose their board

more power to you then

I have to confess to somehow thinking my ninja hubs fit 9" - I have all 4 fitted and went to double check they are supposed to fit, and turns out I’d imagined it and mixed them up with Fivestar’s its going to be a long night as I refit my 8" LOL :joy:  :joy:

clears throat i spent like iunno 800-1200 today and another (one battery//reserved drive//peli case so like imma guess/hope 500) soon, on a whole new board instead of droppin like 200 on 3ds 35 degree risers because it seemed more justifiable. @3DServisas redesign those to cut costs so no one else does what i did. for public safety. I mean its like 80% on me, but make a much cheaper riser before someone else does bro, we the people want street and mountain equipment to be like legos.

tf I didn’t realize how expensive those are, wtf? Are these so complicated to make? Looks like a relatively straightforward part to me.

Not so easy to make on a 3 axis cnc, needs at least 4 setups and 2 custom fixturing methods to machine them. Thus pretty time consuming.

SIde 1, side 2, 2x holes drilling? I feel like this could be optimized a lot, but I don’t know enough about the subject yet. Maybe he should invest in a 5-axis, then you could make this from continuous stock and just cut the finished part off.

The holes on the flat and angled plane are not collineair so those have to be drilled in different orientations and then you also have both sides that need to be milled. Plus dont forget about how to hold the parts in a strong and stable way, that often needs custom jaws.

To stay on topic ill make this a confession too: ‘I always thought parts were fast and easy to cnc mill untill I got into cnc milling myself’

Bingo that would make that part easier haha but they are very expensive, maybe he’ll get one he can use for esk8 parts one day though

watch this its a fun 5 axis video related to skating

sounds like you treating them well, considering they are holding up for 3 years now.

I’ve been coming to terms with it and I think I’m finally ready to admit the truth; I don’t like my LY Evo. Turns like a donkey, I got a double stack enclosure so I have zero clearance, not having a good time

I confess, i do not like flux decks. Ive ridden 2 now, both on channels, and i just dont like them. They were both extremely well built, mind you, i just think that the deck is very huge and very flat, and im not a fan.

I know. I could feel it.

I feel the same about Lacroix. amazingly built boards with amazing specs.

I’d never buy one. I think they’re too wide, ugly color scheme, weird deck shape and not the kind of handling I like.

have ridden a Nazare and a Lonestar.
