Already on it
Wanna see it on the road in action!
well i tried the roadies for a few days, they are a bitch to get on. but they do fit after a bit of work and some soapy water. they ride great. need to be ballanced though. once these blow i will refit my MBS treads as i have a few i want to finish off though. but well worth the price considering i fit these onto Trampa hubs
@Venom121212 as the king of econ tires, are these still your current favorite?
Looking at tires for an upcoming winter build. All suggestions welcome
Yep, those are my go to road tires!
Thanks! What’re your go-to knobbies?
For 9", I’ve had mixed luck from aliexpress so I just go with trusty MBS tires and really enjoy them.
8" is a crap shoot on aliexpress. I generally search the phrase “2.00-4 tire” and look for a darker black and shinier compound. The sellers keep changing though and they started deleting them from my history because aliexpress is garbo so my links are all broken.
Bump.
How likely are these to be real Kendas?
The basic Aliexpress 200x50 (named clever/hota/razer/qind etc.) are okay-ish, but looking for something better.
You can get Kenda K909 200x50 from scooter websites for similar prices and then you can argue authenticity with them rather than Ali.
Ends up being quite a bit more for me, shipping is too high.
Any scooter retailers there? Someone must sell them from a physical location.
I would feel like a dirty whore if I walk into a scooter place, but might be worth a try ![]()
67 bucks from Boardnamics, authentic kendas
Kevin’s shipping estimator is broken and allows free international shipping xD
$21 is pretty reasonable, will go for that over the probably-fake ali ones.
What differentiates a real vs a fake Kenda for you out of curiosity?
4 tires and tubes to Israel is around 2kg, $34
I’d assume that buying the real thing from a known/authentic supply chain ensures quality. (Durability, grip, balance)
Are the Kendra clones usually pretty high quality?
My KENDAS are approved by Michelin engineers if that makes any difference. ![]()
What differentiates a real from a fake Kenda for you?
I think you know the answer but lets get into it anyway, composition of the rubber, mould quality, tolerances and Kenda ensure to use no carcinogenic materials, which is a pretty prevalent problem in cheap wheels. (What this actually means for the person riding on the wheels is up for debate)
For the sake of a few bucks I’d fork out for “real” ones personally, it’s up to the individual though I guess.
