The problem about building these boxes are that they are readily available and a real eMTB won’t mind having a monster/pelican box with a build in gate, air tight sealed and water proof at really affordable price. Maybe there will be some demand, but not much, unless the fiberglass box has all the aformentioned features plus something aditionaly special.
For street boards, something like kaly, nazare, etc. Having all the bottom mount space is nice though.
How many 21700/20700s fit into the evo/evo ds enclosure?
You say that and yet I know multiple people with real eMTB who want something sexier than a pelican case.
It’s whatever. I’m sure someone will fill that Gap in the market eventually.
i can tell you that 96 18650s will fit with room for a unity, so maybe make a guesstimate based on that?
If this is the case I’ll deffinitely do it, might have my perception wrong, nothing a gauging interest thread couldn’t fix.
I know for sure sender has been wanting to get into the mountain board game and isn’t crazy about the enclosure options. he would love something that he can skin.
I’ll buy one.
I really want a more elegant shape than a mere box. @mmaner was working on some pyramid designs. Something like that would be cool.
As long as it isn’t pointy, that’d be dangerous
As soon as I get my new vacuum former finished Im gonna make a couple to test. If its fits everything dimensionally I’ll get @Sender to skin them in CF for strength. Ive also gotta figure out the bottom part, 3d print at first but I’d rather have something semi-rigid and waterproof.
If that is for use with NESE modules, you have my business.
Don’t think they will fit but you never know. I’ll try to make it as wide as possible
Don’t think. Design <3
184.05 × 80 × 26 mm are the dimensions for a N.E.S.E. 21700 module (8P)
If that’s not doable, how about 6P:
141.45 × 80 × 26 mm
I just measured your current Evo DS enclosure.
If you had only made it a 1/4in wider on the narrow side and 1/4in deeper overall, it would already fit a 12s8p 21700 NESE with zero room to spare. Or a 12s6p with dual VESC and BMS.
It is soo close already.
Tight measurements of components get bigger IRL, rarely do things click together like tetris, always need a bit of room to play
I’m completely redesigning the Evo DS, I’m working on a 12s8p but not with Nese modules, those make the battery really thick
Are you ever going to make a DS Evo 36 enclosure?
What needs redesigning? More clearance?
More room for a 12s8p made of 21700 cells, this means a board with a range of +100kms on a single charge. So, width and depth need to be increased and flares need to be reinforced on order to hold the additional weight.
