DV6S Can-bus failure after inverting motors

sensored

If one of the pulleys is tight you should loosen it.

You donā€™t need to change firmware. Just raise the abs current to whatever the allowable max is. You can read the default is vesc tool, and then write that to each side. Itā€™s probably in the range of 150-250a.

@YUTW123 are you guys aware that the vesc motor detection wizard sets bad abs max current values?

It sounds like you have one more settings that is not set well. Iā€™d recommend screen shotting and sharing all your settings.

Ill definitely be sure too once i open it back up, im ordering a bt module so i dont have to unscrew everything a billion times, but I think this motors croaking somewhat, it always slows faster than the other side and when i bought it apparently it was used more than the other side. Now the one bad side motor twitches briefly when accelerating, then is okay, maybe I have the settings too high. I think im just going to buy a new motor to be honest from amazon for that side and see if it works. But overall both pulleys are pretty tight, i have them as loose as i can get em. I might have to dremel out some metal to make more space

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM!!! Itā€™s the power button, be sure to only enable the Power Off After 30 Min on the side the button is plugged into, changing that setting fixed it all for me. Also watch out for the new 6.02 firmware, mine had lots of bugs

did you have throttle issues? my inital torque is very slow for some reason, it picks up speed after it gets moving, but the torque is a bummer

All of these threads make me wanna make a definitive guide to getting around ESC fuckery, in video form of course.

Please do so, we are lost

My issue was that the side the power button was not plugged into would completely shut off whenever i put on the throttle. Both would spin when it was low throttle, any higher than about 20% duty cycle and the non power button side of the esc would shutoff. Then only one motor would spin extremely slow.
MakerX uses a modded firmware for their Dv6, Dv6 pro, and Dv6s to accommodate their power button. If you donā€™t follow their steps for enabling it, it wont work

I wish they would set the switch to work from default and would probably fix issues some have.
Shits me having to manually set it and if the settings play up eg vesc id it defaults everything and you canā€™t switch the vesc off without opening everything up and unplugging it.

Yeaaaaaa itā€™s a total pain, I bought a whole new esc when the problem was just the glitchy new firmware and power sw

Also had i issue with the power button jst connector moving or coming loose and getting cut outs, It would only happen on full throttle and under load. glued it in place and been good since. Staked it at mid 30ā€™s after full cut out ā€¦SUCKED .

I covered most of the common issues (bootloader & switch) in my latest vesc video

Might make sense to make an ESC problems one

Fixed that for ya
