Will keep this in mind.
The build I’d likely do testing on is my hummie with belt drive

If someone in the EU just needs 2, I’ll take the other 2 for the front wheels
I would give you mine for testing but ur in the us
Ya that wouldn’t be very economical for either of us haha
Are you going to pair them with hubs?
I would, yes.
Hubs in the back, hollow wheels front.
This is a great idea lol. If I end up making that light comuter I’ve been thinking of i will hit you up
Hell yeah!
I should’ve joined the test batch. I give my hubs and wheels so much shit every ride. Would be good to test the hollow wheels durability with.
I am still figuring out all the VAT and tax things, but if I can I will be sending most everything from the USA and as much as possible through @Anubis. I’m still trying to set up the company overseas. I am heavily incentivized to make it as cheap as possible for people to acquire these wheels world wide, but still learning as I go and relying on multiple tax agencies to help with that.
With the test rig, I have been doing some range testing and also optimizing the inserts (since I have to retool those since I added the ribs).
I have a load cell that can simulate rider weight. I have a brake on the test rig that can simulate rolling road resistance. I have torque wrenches everywhere to make sure no axle nuts are tighter than other wheels. Then, I have a VESC that can measure wh/mi. With some scripting, I have been doing simulated Full throttle for extended period, then oscillating between brake and full acceleration. I have the test set up at 2.75 miles. I’ll be releasing that video soon.
The deformation is hard to measure in real time and I haven’t rented a slo-mo cam yet to see if there are deformation under hard acceleration. For hard acceleration, there could be but it would be very, very small if there was.
General deformation based on hitting bumps just depends on how heavy you are, how fast you’re traveling, where the impact hits the wheel, etc.
I am working on another pair of inserts that are designed to maintain as much range as possible, but that is still in development with my test rig.
The inserts affect ride feel considerably, but I will make a more in-depth video on that as soon as I get all the updated inserts molded.
@ShutterShock Can you remind me your order number and I can check for you?
I think I answered all the questions, but let me know if I missed them.
Aug 27, 2020 order #2066
Should be within the first 40 preorders
Hey Doug,
If I were to order a set (with inserts) when do you estimate they’d ship out by? I’m sure the first batches are your priority but I was just wondering.
Thanks
It would come a couple weeks after. Sorry. I have been just heads down on work.
I got some uncolored (they are not black) wheels to test with the ribs. I got the factory to deviate from the plan a little bit to test things faster.
Update coming tomorrow night with lots of pictures.
Want to sell a set of those uncolored ones to me after the testing If they hold up?
Shipping in the next weeks?
Expect 1-2 months at the earliest.
I bought them in August, that would be a whole year.
That’s a preorder for ya
No one else has done it yet, so he’s still in the lead
