I’m white up front, green rear on Semendeed. It’s crazy how u can actually turn better maintaining speed around hairpins as u can lean over more and stay on the board. Hitting that throttle just as u feel you’re about to tip over keeps u on. I work a lot harder around the T Race track on my Semendeed compared to my 2wd setup that is far more maneuverable, but am faster on Semendeed. I take slightly wider line on Semendeed than my 2wd but can take bends faster.
I concur you hit all the points there. Difference in setup would be that I have wine reds in the back.
Yeah I typically fall when I’ve slowed too much and lost momentum. But yeah playing with throttle to try to stay on the board it’s a fine line.
Yup wider lines but much faster.
Right now I’m really struggling on the heel side turns and I can’t figure out if it’s a binding thing. Like I really have to crank and put a lot of strain on my ankle. I seen some people place their binding more over the toes and wonder if I should do the same. It’s just a struggle messing with bindings though. Hoping loosening things up eases this.
Heelside is my preferred. Just dig those heels in and stick booty out a bit haha
Haha I lean out there and why I got a slide puck now. But somehow my foot doesn’t feel secure enough. Maybe I need to stick a bit of vicious heel side too.
This board knocked at my front door, and the next thing I know it’s gone and so is my wife. Please tell the board to bring her back as she owes me birthday meatloaf.
Sweet insta pic that @poastoast found on AlienRides IG
Got some small updates.
So, following up after T-Racing:
- Changed the angles of links front and back for a looser setup. Currently maxed out on the front with flipped bracket, on the back I’m on the middle setting but under axle. Definitely will take some getting used to especially at speed, but much easier to initiate turning.
- I’ve always had a feeling of insecurity in my shoes cause my feet would around a bit. Downsized on some new Van BMX, and seems to have helped me feel more secure. Can stop worrying about that now.
- Rode my Luna RKP side by side with 3Links and felt a bit smoother on that board especially on transition from heel to toe. So, I need to dig into what’s going on there and tweak the links likely. But it could also be because the Luna board is more under powered and easier to control.
- Braking feels a bit horrendous right now is another possibility ever since moving to 15T motor pinions. I know there’s no fix out there for this. So, I’m going to try and move to full current mode to mitigate this issue.
- Potential issue that I don’t fully understand, is the links not being square. @Mbrady recommended anyone using 3Links to make sure they’re square and that it makes a huge difference.
Hollup, aint that deck backwards in the picture? Or did you do this on purpose because of the binding on the front?
Definitely not backwards. I can see the angled up front.
Oh so the deck has a more concave. Backside then? Interesting.
I have the same deck, the infamous Semendeed. Yes it has a prominent W in the rear.
As @JeffyJ said not backwards with the angled tip out front. The rear pocket has a steeper, how do you say, angle up than the front. This way your back foot has something to brace against. Really helps during 0-20 launches.
Went out the other night for some 0-20 also to test full current braking. Not really a fan, instead of the brakes completely letting go, now I just reverse burnout a lot more. Tweaked the brake curve to see if it at least it can feel a little bit better.
Also, tried squaring up the 3Links, does look like it was a little off. I also wonder if that was what causing the wear on the RS tires but have some doubt.
@poastoast and I will get after some T-Racing tonight. Hopefully RaceBox doesn’t act up and I don’t get any flats. Will bring BRPs as backup just in case.
Any chance it’s due to axle bending?
I don’t think so cause the wear is happening on inside and outside edge. It’s almost as if the rubber has a harder time adhering on the edge with the stiff sidewalls?
I’ll send an updated picture
I was only paying attention to the inside wear like a true donkey.
What PSI do you run?
This wear pattern on car tires indicates underinflation.
The next time you put a new set on and do the “chalk test”. Draw a fat chalk line across the tire, do a lap, and keep going up 5 psi until you see the chalk not fully evenly going away. This shows the point where your tires contact patch is no longer flat under loaded riding.
Mmm yeah that’s a good idea. Currently running around 30-32 psi
Is the wear still only on one side as you mentioned above?
that seems low for your weight. You are a big strong boi. you might need more pressure
