Best I’ve done to date, but it’s not better than the feeling of no faults (even with wheel slip). Still not on this board, but way closer than ever before.
Went out tonight for more launch testing and overall confidence. I also decided to move up to 12T pinions putting me at about 5.5. Figured AVS is a big track.
So even with slightly lower torque I’d say it went pretty well.
Went up to 307 motor amps 135 batt, and oh shit it was one cold night but hit 78c on the motors. @fessyfoo@ShutterShock i think I might have to worry lol.
Today was a good hard day of racing at I2S, and I’m sore af and cramping. It’s been a long hard journey to get to this point but we’re finally at a place where it’s not the board and just purely skill issue.
The I2S track today was tight in spots with big ass straightaway, good prep for AVS. @ARCTIC is fast af but needs a board that turns cough@Skyart. @poastoast is getting comfy on his board again and was nipping at my heels. Once he gets comfy again he’s gonna be fast. I took the first heat today, Poast took the second after I fell, and IceCole took us on the launch/start every time.
Speaking of falling I literally fell on the same ass cheek today 3-4 times. I need some butt sliders or something. I also think I need some actual downhill slide gloves, cause mine got caught in the ground a couple times.
So, it was the s turn after the sweeper after the big straight that kept getting me. Coming off hot down the straightaway I carry a lot of speed into the sweeper. But sometimes I forget to brake hard into that turn or got caught behind someone. Since it’s a heel side turn for me if I lose momentum then I’ll end up falling on my ass. Usually cause I go wide, and to avoid hitting the cones or crossing course boundaries going into oncoming traffic, I brake slowing down thus falling on my ass.
Skill issue.
Time to get better.
On a different note here is Poasts launch on my board:
I think for me to get better times I might need to bump the rear to use bigger motors. But do I really need it…. maaaaaaybe not. Outta the s turn from toes side I was breaking rear traction due to gunning too early, probably another skill issue.
yeah, i agree we need to get @ARCTIC a bit more angle on those bases if only @surfnacho would cut me some dang bases with that heap of junk he has in my Garage
I’ll have to play with it, but I definitely need more to the rear cause I can’t up the amps there anymore. Front does spin out currently but I’m wondering if trigger control will help.
