Community Board Project X

You actual goal was high range with decent power. So I thought about this cell. But nvm.

VTC5 and 6 have short life time. They loose very fast capacity. They are maybe good batteries vor vapes, but not for a long term usage in electric skateboards.
The P26a ist 50% more expensive than the 30Q and I don’t know any long term tests on electric skateboards with this specific cell. If you habe any date I would be very interested in. BTW the voltage is the same like in all 18650 cells. I think you mean current. On paper you are right. It would be nice if its true, combined with the high capacity. But again, we just use parts based on reliable data and tests. There is no room for assumptions in our project. Buy and of the day it’s you that will ride the board and I don’t know if you like to pay more for something untested.

Again, which ESCs are you referring to, wich should be better than FS and MT?
We will compare the DieBieMS with the Bestech BMS and see if there is any difference between them.
Both VESCs we have won’t limit the power output of the battery or motors by any meaning.

Battery current is not the same as motor current. Please don’t confuse.

True, but we need long term reliability and a reasonable price as well. Other wise our friends won’t buy it.

We go best over all, but we keep an eye on price and value.

I think 35e makes more sense then 30q for a 12s12p pack. Thats still 120amps with a added 6ah size pack.

120A is unfortunately way too low.

Where do you get your cycle count/life expectancy data from?

How much are you discharging trough the Diebiems?

I can back this claim up although I cbf looking for the source

I compared some data sheets I’ve found on google. Maybe it was from Mountainprophet, but I’m not sure though.

Need to be testet in particular.

The RC feels really nice so far. I like the inductive charging though!

A prototype deck just arrived. Now we need to test the electronics on our custom deck.

Keep an I on the maytech rc, I’ve heard that they had dropouts sometimes. The one time I’ve ridden with one on @J0ker’s
Board I could not unfeel the feels :joy:

Thanks for the warning!

Did you get the deck made locally?

iirc, the deck was made in Freiburg in a longboard workshop called Hackbrett.

nice!

how wide is that deck? :o:

Yes sir!
It’s from Bastl Boards. Manny thanks to Sebastian.

Wider than most other decks. Final dimensions are not finished yet.

If you had the possibility would you rather go for 12S12P Samsung 30Q with 36Ah and 180A nominal / 240A realistic, or 12S8P Samsung 40T with 32Ah and 280A nominal / 200A realistic and safe a couple hundred grams / 1lbs?
