Cloud Wheels/Clone SR Foamies Review

@BluPenguin
Ships also float but have you seen how much an aircraft carrier weighs? :joy:

the 120 foamies comes out to almost exactly the same weight as the 107 reflys.

I feel the same when I had it on my daily ridden Ownboard Bamboo GT for 2 weeks
They really do buff of the vibration on tarmac but another 1 thing I noticed was the durability

The one I used chipped like mad in just 2 weeks, roughly around 50km…and I only rode them on regular tarmac…

Just got my CloudWheels. Spokes is thinner than ABEC11’s, will have to redesign my pulleys (need to add approx 0.25mm thickness) which is fine as I need 39T pulleys instead of 36T (bigger wheels lol)

Also the inside of the pulley for belt area needs to be further out by about 3mm as well.

This helped me make my decision between the 110’s and 120mm’s

Don’t be fooled by weight, foamies eat more battery than 110s

I find this as well. 110s glide and Foamies churn.

Churn? Like butter?

Think ice skater vs Zamboni.

Dang. I really wish there was a way to test out these wheels on the revel kit without actually buying them lol.

Anybody know offhand if the 120mm foamies fit the Carvon V4TD-XL with abec adapter? I know it’s abec but does it actually fit properly. :yum:

Is there anybody in NYC with a set…?

foamies are clone core not Abec if that helps. slop with the haggy press fit but they go in at least.

Yes, they do. :+1:t3: Although you may need a little heat shrink on the prongs for a nice snug fit.

@Mobutusan how have the XLs been? foamies vs Superfly if you had?

Foamies all day over Superfly 107.

I might have to get a set for the HyperBeast build

The XL’s have been pretty great for me. Although I don’t have a huge amount of miles on them, but so far, so good. The motors do heat up if you’re a bit aggressive with the throttle or do lots of starts and stops, and will hit the thermal throttling limit sometimes, but that’s about the only issue. Sad that Carvon went the way of the dodo bird, cause they had some solid products. And as @BillGordon said, foamies over 107s all day especially on rough or uneven surfaces. They just soak up so many bumps and imperfections and still somehow have really good grip despite the smaller contact patch.
