Cloud Wheels/Clone SR Foamies Review

I think a few factors contribute, the round shape 1 means less forces holding the wheel perpendicular to the axle, more stress on the core. Plus the huge diameter also way higher lateral forces. Then the thinner spokes. All these combined means that if there is any damage caused to the core, stresses are much higher than in other smaller flat wheels.

Hey man, glad things are getting better for you, ride safe :+1:

I just had a dumb idea. Someone who doesn’t trust their core could “battle harden” it by filling the slots in with epoxy. Lol.

3D printed insert too!

I am pretty sure the foamies from slick revolution have the exact same core as the legit Abecs so the spokes should be the same size. Maybe the cloudwheels are indeed different to the foamies?

Yes, dimensions are not quite the same. Not sure if it was done purposefully. People with CNC abec pulleys get a lot of slop in the cloud cores

I would not ride these wheels seeing these pictures.

Bad idea people.

Good to know what you would not do :+1:

AHEM

I told you it would be worth your time

Can anyone verify for a fact there is a difference in the cores of the Cloud Wheels and the Slick Revolution wheels?

Well said. And then there’s both sets of pictures showing stress cracks at 2 months, catastrophic failure at less than 6 months.

The only thing I can verify is all my pulleys that fit very snug into abec 107s and 97s are like hotdog down a hallway in the clouds. I can rock the wheels back and forth while holding the motor. Doesn’t bother me but some people I suppose so.

Hey. Now nobody’s parents can say “nobody told them not to do it” if somebody dies from a catastrophic wheel failure on these :cowboy_hat_face:

Just covering the bases

Who’s parent came on ek8 forum to complain after their kid dies from esk8 accident? Lol

But have you tried them on the SR foamies?

Well, some of them have come on here to tell us their kid died. Not very funny. Don’t really think they could complain because it’s something that’d had it’s based covered

It is the same wheel. iwonder made the mold and sr bought batches from iwonder. it’s not a clone

Yeah erm. I feel like even if that was the case, “I told you so” is not an appropriate response still.

I thought you said above they are different dimensions?

I expect they are the exact same wheel with different names stamped on the side…

I meant that the iwonder/sr is different than a real abec 11 core.
