Changing Motor Phase Terminations?

Went swimmingly apart from my own stupidity…
A cold solder joint caused one of the phases to burn in one of the motors.

oofda, where was the cold solder located?

The joint I made of the three phases to form the star connection…
It wasn’t super great on one of the phases so some strands were not carrying current.

Can’t you just sort of twist those phases together and cut them off so you have a little knub, and then heatshrink over that so it doesn’t short anything? Do you actually have to solder anything there?

Absolutely you need to solder…
Twisting is not a viable connection method.

I’d heard for removing the stator from the “bearing tube”(as rcgroups people called it) the freezer helps. I never could remove them no matter what I tried but heat seems counterintuitive as the aluminum tube would be expanding with heat. They all seem press fitted.

Make sure u have the right starts and ends too. Can’t tell w a multimeter. Maybe could with a small current through the wire and a magnet checking polarity of teeth
