Changing Charger Connector. Safety Question.

So I have a new 12s 4A charger that came with an XLR connection. I’m going to swap it out for a 5.5 x 2.1 barrel connection. What size wire should I use? Can these barrels handle 4A? Just want to play it safe.

If it’s the plastic kind, maybe not, but the metal one can. Got a picture of yours?

These are what I have laying around. I stripped off the existing wires because they were only about .5mm (24awg)

Should be fine @ 4a. I use the same plug on a 4a charger.

I’m dumb; thought you were replacing the charge port on the board; yeah that’ll be fine!

Bumping this again. These wires look far too thin to support 4amps correct?

good choice

20AWG or 22AWG, will say on the wire insulation

Yes, most are rated for 5A, a very small number of them are rated for 7A.
