Ye sped up and we all fell for it, well at least now people are starting to review the v2 board and its not getting good reviews at all, lets hope it all gets back to bustin boards so they maybe reply to peoples messages and do somthing about the v2 “bullshit board”
In all fairness nobody has even ridden those neo hubs yet.
fanboi army chopping you up in 3 … 2 … 1…
Well glad you couldnt care less but people on this thread could!! so thanks for the hubs tip but thats all, no body else on this thread has said anything like well “i couldnt care less” except you so maybe see ya later mate.
It looks like a china 10s3p of diyeboard fame. The bms could be on a long pcb along one side.
When upgrading this particular set up you need to consider amp ratings of not only the battery cells but also the bms capabilities. Those old ling yi esc’s draw only 18 amps per side so if you upgrade to vesc then going over this will fry the bms. The most I pushed one of these was 22 per side. 25 and the bms popped.
edit; I am talking battery amps to clarify. You can improve torque by upping motor amps but check heat.
You crack me up newguy, I’ve been commenting throughout this thread, and will provide input as I see fit.
Your making the Antipodes look bad here boys. Play noice.
at least this can be bypassed by also upgrading the battery too
They really know how to market… The Samsung logo is everywhere. Same with any reputable manufacturer producing parts for this. It’s certainly being sold well.
Absolutely but you would be surprised at how much more fun can be had with that little battery if set up correctly. I have the very thing in my wifes set up using a d140 by passed bms and focboxes. Running haggys and it pulls my heavy arse up hills. Range and sag are woeful but for a starter guy its fine to begin with. Get a 4p 30q in there and fun fun fun but most new esk8’rs would be put off by the pull.
I’m really looking forward to when a solid mod/upgrade is done on this setup we have (unless I become the first) so it lays out exactly what we need to get the best all round performance
If a VESC etc is the better route but more costly I’d still rather go that way if I end up with a cracking board .
I’m hoping I might be able to get someone local to me to help in the installation .
The combined knowledge on here is awesome but with my elec skill set ,I still wouldn’t feel confident ripping out the heart of my board I just payed £900 for without knowing which parts are defiantly going to work . Especially if I might need to add 6 cells etc . As said hopfully someone might step up and I can follow suit
i hope they didn’t use the same ESC in the YoFace and Sportster S. Because those have 10s2p packs with Samsung 22p cells which can only do 10A per side…
if I were to rebuild the interior, would it be possible to use the nice remote on a VESC?
I’m certain it’s the same ESC, it suffers from the same dead band before an abrupt kick in on the throttle
I know a guy who bought a Yoface, so hopefully he can confirm which ESC is in use. I will be truly surprised if it’s different, though.
you know two now.
honestly after realizing all of this i might try to return it.
Just be careful you don’t end up paying £900 for a nice sportster deck and enclosure. As long as the board is functioning properly, there’s no reason you can’t sell it and recoup some money towards buying a new deck, enclosure, battery and drivetrain of your choice. Someone recently introduced me to the Ship of Theseus concept, which feels like it could end up being the case here.
Yeh I hear you ,perhaps I need to stick it out and use the board for a few months then maybe summer try selling it or modding it as at least then I would of had some use and the cost will be absorbed some what . If I sell now I’m going to loose a few hundred for sure which I can’t afford to do .
