Hi bud ,I’m hoping to ride my V2 x board for the first time today after waiting two weeks for a hub and better weather . I’m 183lbs so god knows what speed and range I’ll get but what top speed did you manage ? Also when they say get a BKB set do they mean swap out the motors etc we have in the V2 ?

It may have the potential to be turned into a belt driven board… “potential” thrown around loosely. Most folks around here prefer belt or gear driven for the various benefits… but then again I’m not about to for the bustin board because this hub motor is so well built (judging by the interest from the motor experts here) and extremely torquey (in my limited experience).

I’ve just emailed Bustin with exactly what I think but in short I’m pissed off at the following
Unrealistic range claims
Unrealistic top speed claims
Not that smoother esc curve (compared to my old bamboo gtx)
Not overly great braking and no where near as much as my old Evolve (they recon B4 mode is super good )
Lack of info showing how the managed to get these advertised figures which is what I based my decision on . Close would of been acceptable !
I’m nearly 49 and work hard to support my wife and kids and don’t have slot of spare money so for treats like this board it’s a big deal to get right as I just can’t afford to waist cash . On this occasion I feel like I have .
I’ve got to try and stay positive else I won’t enjoy the board at all but it’s a mega disappointment and I would not recommend it to any one who’s toying with getting one .
Maybe some future upgrades will make it a good board .

This is where you’ve got room to play with some DIY upgrades. All else being said - I do think Bustin’s got a pretty basic and good looking $600 prebuilt board going… for me the S version at least. Though technically China made, the US / swiss tech and branding runs through its veins. Where else can you find a US-based similar at this price point? Boosted? Metro? Dot / Globe? / Loaded? I was looking at Atomboards at one stage, but couldnt get over how awkward it looked.

top speed - i wont probaby ever reach
Range - i knew what my range was declared to be and i think the S version is roughly as stated

Placing what Dave kindly PM’d me here…

That’s a pretty old LingYi ESC.

Hence the price? Where can i find inherent problems on this ESC?

This is basically the ESC that was used for the first few models of the Meepo boards. They have since introduced three newer versions, with the last two being much better.

This version, sorry to say, is fairly robust when kept dry but has a jerky control interface.

Damn they really just use an eBay cheap ESC - that’s wild.

Makes a lot more sense that they can sell these boards for $600 now

I wonder what the battery construction looks like.

I have the older v1 board arriving this week so I’ll crack that one open to see if theres a difference in the esc’s because everyone thats ridden a v1 of these boards says it a fast power board but my v2 isnt a fast nor powerful board :frowning::frowning:

Aren’t people saying that there’s a lot of wasted space in the motor?

Good looking is true. I love that wood finish and wood remote but I just checked their website and it goes for $700. Does that also include shipping?

For around the $600 price range, I’d suggest this:

The main benefit I see is it uses proper esk8 components which can be upgraded but are sufficient enough. The BKB also has BT addon for $20, more range, and probably more torque due to belt drives.

Wow - you found a new V1? Anticipation amplified

Dont forget about the ride comfort and the fact you can chsnge the settings on the esc. That old eBay/diyeboard l esc was what I started with.

Apart from that, everything in life can be improved I suppose.

@BillGordon it should be an easy cheap upgrade to the latest esc, no? Or the hobbywing esc?

Lotta room for a bms. Or another p-group or two…

Yeah, battery probably already has a BMS, but easy upgrade for sure. Get a Unity or something and just put it there. New remote. Bang. Hole different monster. Probably could turn up the amps a bit.
