Bushing and Truck Setup Help Offered

How heavy are you? I use pretty much the same setup at 85KG and don’t have any wobbles… My cruising speed is 40km/h and I try to carve, but my bushings feel stiff.

My setup:
87A precision barrel and 87A cone in the front with a cupped washer. As loose as possible.

97A barrel with 100A riot plug and 87A cone with a cupped washer in the back. Tightened to 2 threads.

im 63 kg.

“pretty much” and you use a cone, only cupped wasers and riot plug

I know shit about bushings so don’t listen to me lol. im just doing what people are telling me to :joy:

Holy fucking shit. I just swapped the front out with a cupped washer (cupped washer front and rear) and only tightened the front 1,5 threads and the back 3 threads.

Holy… it’s literally day and night difference and I can’t even describe it. Feels stable at high speeds and carvers like a dream. Feels like surfing. I have never been able to turn as much as now. It’s fucking fantastic. Wobbles are still existing when hitting big bumps but it’s definitely much better.

I think mainly tightening the rear truck is the way to go.

I can’t even thank you enough for that post @Murloc992!!! You changed my board completely and it’s just amazing! Thank you!!!

Hi, sorry for my absence, I should be able to spend some time here Monday, California time.

@whaddys, The large flat washer we supply with FatCones, Magnums and Chubby’s should stay with the large diameter bushing for full support wherever they are used.

Sorry @Tampaesk8er, you will need to give me more than that to go on…

@legend27, I would suggest boosting the rear duro to 90a with cups or throw in a 87a Magnum boardside rear.

Hey brad/ @RipTideSports,
My current setup is currently tb218’s with stock bushings and I sorta want some more rebound returning me to the neutral position. I want my board to be nice and carvy but still be stable at high speeds.
I way 130 pounds. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

This is what you wrote back to me 10 days ago.

Hey @Tampaesk8er, I would suggest a Canon / Magnum combination front and back in KranK 93a. You can set it up symmetrically or asymmetrically to get the feel that you are looking for:

Roadside bushing / Boardside bushing configurations below

Symmetrical:
Canon / Magnum front and back
Magnum / Canon front and back

Asymmetrical:
Magnum / Canon front, Canon / Magnum rear
Canon / Canon front, Magnum / Magnum rear.

Hey Brad, Good morning and hope all is well.

Got another one for you. With gear I am at 230lbs.

This is a short deck set. 21 inch wheel base. Jet Spud. from my old Metroboard micro slim…

83mm wheels. on TKP Caliber Trucks. this is a cruiser so I hope it will be carvy. the board has aggressive concave and is super nimble.

don’t expect it to be super fast. 25mph max i think really 20 usually. so as per usual would need stability.

Are they the Caliber Standard or New Standard? The Standard was made first and had a really bad bushing seat that did not contain the bushing so the trucks would wag horribly!

What’s up Brad, I’m going to pick your brain regarding my commuter board
• Hummie deck
• Surfrodz RKP’s
• 35° front 50° rear - Black Barrels and cones F & R (hard I think)
• Sixshooter’s (mostly)
• I weigh around 210 fully loaded
• Top end in the low to mid 30s but usually cruise in the mid to 3/4 range

I have had to really crank down on the kingpins and the board just feels kinda sloppy or loose but is stable at speed.
I would like to retain my stability but make the board carvy but not loose I guess.

Thanks Brad,
I am not sure. I will need to do some digging to see if I can figure that out. they came with my metroboard micro slim I bought about 3 years ago.

I can likely tell if you take the front hagner off and take some pictures with a bushing sitting in the top and bottom bushing seat

Awesome. Thanks again for your time.
