Thanks- I really appreciate your insight, and it’s so awesome getting help from an expert!
I love the deck too =D
Really great advice. Woudl an enclosures depth effect or limit the choice in which trucks I can use (i.e 50 or 44)? Im waiting on a enclosure and will see what the ground clearance is before making a choice… Perhaps ill just go for angle risers in the end though. Im a little surprsed you didn’t recommend any bushings, since ive heard the stock calliber ones aren’t that good.
Thanks so much for taking the time advise -)
Before I can make a recommendation, I need to know what you end up with on the build.
Ok, once I have the enclosure ill be back. Thanks
Hello @RipTideSports, I’ve finally come around to ordering the recommended bushings but I have some questions. Is there a way to buy only one bushing instead of the full 2 piece package for the split setup? I heard mentioning it in the order comments is a way, yet I’m just checking before the purchase since I’d ideally prefer not to pay for extraneous material.
Yes, just leave a note below the shipping options. As long as the two bushings in the pair are the same price you can mix duro or shape
I am editing the Ownboard recommendation to:
Front truck
F1: KranK 90a StreetBarrel (.5" tall) with small flat washer
F2: KranK 90a Barrel (.6" tall) with cup washer
F3: KranK 93a StreetBarrel (.5" tall) with small flat washer
F4: KranK 93a FatCone (.6" tall) with large flat washer
Rear Truck
R1: KranK 93a StreetBarrel (.5" tall) with small flat washer
R2: KranK 93a Barrel (.6" tall) with cup washer
R3: KranK 93a StreetBarrel (.5" tall) with small flat washer
R4: KranK 93a Chubby (.6" tall) with large flat washer
Hi! So once again I would like a bushing recommendation.
Current setup:
Hummie deck,
275mm trucks,
175mm tyres
50 front and around 43-46 in the back. I can’t go any lower in the back for now. These are semi dropped plates.
Back bushings are stock ones, I’m not aware of the front ones.
Rider weight is 75kg.
I would like a speed orientated bushing setup, now I have proper turning radius, it’s not great, it’s good and enough for me, but the board is a bit to lively under the feet at 50kmh+. I actually will be changing the base plates to regular ones and will drop mount them, wich should help with stability a bit. And would also like to swap the bushings at the same time.
It look like the rear bushings are KranK 90a and the front are KranK 93a. If so run the 90’s up front and the 93 in back.
Why softer ones in the front?
Green is 90 is they are ours and Burgundy is 93 also if they are ours. The way your pictures are showing the bushings you are running the softer green on the back and the harder burgundy up front, it should be the opposite, soft in the front and hard in the back
Fair enough, I always tried to keep softer ones in the back, what’s the fizics behind it? Also are these the only bushings you would recommend? Would I benefit from a pivot swap?
this might not really come in this thread but how do people make sharp turns
which foot do they do the turning on and how is this done
also what foot positions do people use
All I am suggesting is what you have may work for what you want to do if they are set up properly. The physics behind what I suggested is allow for easy turn initiation with the looser front and greater stability with the harder rear.
@RipTideSports, do you recommend cannon’s for surfrodz rkp’s? I have them installed currently, they’re a little snug but none the less fit. Haven’t tried them on a test ride just yet.
I’m running 84A cannons upfront and 87A cannons in the rear on a 50/45 split. I’m about 130ish. I used the same bushings on an evo 36 with 50degree calibers and it was awesome. Not sure how it’ll transition to different hangars and angles.
For SZ we normally recommend our standard Barrels but if the Canons fit, should not be a problem.
I’ve skimmed through this thread - but i haven’t seen anything definitive for the Haggy Kahua trucks. I’m looking for confirmation that this will fit. I’d like to upgrade the stock bushings and obtain a firmer yet still responsive ride.
Would the below work for this setup?
- Weight: 175 lbs
- Subsonic Century 40 (Front Angle: +10° / Rear Angle: -10°)
|
Caliber 2 Pivot Cup
96a Neon Green
|
KranK Magnum
93a - Wine Red
Sold With Large Flat Washers (Pair)
|
KranK Canon
93a - Wine Red
Washers:
No Washers
I will check my set today, sorry for the delay
no worries! just want to make sure I’m ordering the right stuff - appreciate your help!
Hi @RipTideSports I bought a couple months ago some bushings and they were perfect
84a and 85a ones (blue and red)
Then I upgraded to kahua trucks and now when I tighten them either I get no wobble but it’s hard to turn tight corners or I get wobbles and easy to turn
What do you recommend
Thanks
