Bushing and Truck Setup Help Offered

OK, cool, sorry you have such experiences with bushings, we will change that. Get it all assembled and ride it to determine the shortcomings and we will use that as a data point to make improvements.

Thanks so much Brad! Couple clarifying questions before I check out my cart online. Are the fatcones regular or street (you recommended krank street barrel and noticed there were two types of fatcones as well)? I am assuming the chubbys are also 87a? What brand of risers do you recommend for varying and ‘dewedging’ the front and back height? PS- how can I return the favor for your advice? Review? Consulting fee? I just want to pay it forward, where/when it’s due. You’re awesome.

I am here to help you achieve the ride they are looking for if possible so no worries, I am happy to help. Street (.5" tall) for your roadside bushings and Longboard .(6" tall) for your boardside bushings. Khiro wedges from Sk8Kings and please let us know here if what I suggested worked or needs further tuning. I am here to learn also.

Thanks! So to ‘de-wedge’ the rear trucks I assume I’ll need to get one set of Khiro Flat hard risers (for the front trucks) at the highest height (9/16) and another set of angled wedge risers for the rear trucks, either the 3/16 to 9/16 (for 7 degree wedge) set or the 5/16 to 9/16 (for 5 degree wedge) set. I just wasn’t sure what size the front riser should be. Should i get 80a or 60a for the shock (Khiro offers both duros)? Also, would i need to get 2.5-3" mounting hardware to accommodate all this?

I find it hilarious that wedge makers to not tell you the angle. You will need to compensate in the front plus longer fasteners. Did not know they offered different hardness’s. As a personal rule, I opt for hard plastic risers as I find shock pad’s performance dubious at best

So so so true. I find myself doing math when ordering risers. Albeit just comparing fractions but still. Just put the angle next to the damn thing.

For those less adept, take the tall side minus the short side for length value “a” then the overall length of the riser for length value “b” to calculate angle “a”.

Should be next week, doing the best we can with what we got

No totally understand. No rush at all just curious was all. Wasn’t sure if it was just covid related that you guys were out or because there seems to be less demand for SR pivot cups.

I wasn’t gonna use the SR Baseplates if you didn’t have pivot cups at all. I was gonna just get rid of them but if they plan to be in stock at some point I’ll keep them around.

Thanks.

Try to duplicate the Bioboards Thorium approach and sell the Surf-Rodz trucks

Is that accounting for angle of the deck? Or just Baseplates themselves ?

@RipTideSports Brad, I’m doing a really nonsensicle thing…for science reasons…I’m using SR TKP Adjustable baseplates (hammocks) drop through through a bustin’ maestro.

How would set up the angles for the most stability at high speeds…I know, it’s a slalom set-up, but plz, entertain this non-sense =/ FOR SCIENCE
Bushing/pivot cup/washer combo recommendation welcome as well =)

Baseplate themself

No problem. I can also agree that the Fatboy hangers are solid I have a lot of them and they have not let me down yet. I also have Surf Rodz and they are sadly now collecting dust…

Looking for some help with an Enertion Raptor 2.1 with Truck Bushing changes

Rider Weight 65kg

Running Ronin Pro Lite - 174mm 2.5mm + Rake with x2 Fruit Punch 92A Bushings, 90mm Boas 82a
Swapped Bushings on Ronins Ice Tea OEM with the Bump Stops configured bumpstops facing Boardside/Road.

In terms of Wheelbite, i’m not yet close to Deck wheelbite, Shredights however closer (hence the move to Ice tea…however are also taller - counting on the bumpstops there.

Giving the rear truck some life.

Issue: Rear Enertion Truck need’s and overhall.

  1. The Rear Truck, Stock is x2 90a Barrels. - Ive changed this for Boardside Stock 90a and Roadside 83a Tall Barrel (Gives me a fair amount more lean and reduced wheelslip issues). Lacks return to Center. Odd Vibrations motors give off here or there also call for some attention.
Ive got some Chubby WFB bushings i wanted to experement with to add some boardside cusioning, but also was hoping it would give a slightly improved return to center than the barrel.
Went to try this out and it occured there were only Flat washers of that size - Ive only managed to scavenge a single Washer in the past that was cupped that fit around Chubby/Cone bushings. Do know where in EU/ebay anywhere where they are sold prehaps it’s XL?

  2. Pivot cup/tube replacement for Enertion baseplates - Thought it was based on Caliber the first cast they manufactured

  3. Serperate matter
Only downside to the whole setup is it’s 45 front 50 rear, and Dewedging the rear adds too much height.
(tried it before and bent the baseplate > which convinently now gives -6 effectivley (am using a new baseplate now but open to rocking that old one to achive 45/44

Edit: Cleared up the post
