had it bookmarked https://bustinboards.com/products/dualomo-hybrid-sportster-35-deck-case-diy-kit
(not sure how to find it on the site though!)
Thanks man. Too small for me unfortunately. Nice price though.
Interested to see how these builds turn out with 90mm+ wheels. I’ve got an older Sportster that I’ve kept as a push board cause I want to run drop through and get wheel bite on anything over 83mm.
A lot have my recent boards have used inserts but I find that I really don’t mind bolting thru as long as I just countersink. Aesthetics are important, but stealth isn’t. This will be an electric board, and I’ll make it look pretty, but I’m not trying to hide that it’s powered
Yeah i think bolt through is probably the easiest and most reliable and it really doesn’t look that bad
Have been feeling the same. Especially with little m4s refusing to stay put holding enclosures in
I’m gonna attempt to keep hidden though we shall see. I think I can create a cavity big enough for 10S3P 40T with plenty of room to spare
Battery decision will be tough for me. I haven’t gotten into building my own get, besides NESE
Good to know! Appreciate the input a lot gotta be able to consider all the options.
I don’t think that enclosure will fit the profile of this board
But it did. Worked for me.
Ah 7 1/2 looks wider than the flat profile on the one I have
Whats the other deck you have next to it?
Sector nine shoots 33
Here are a few pics of the builds I had on my Sportster. I used TB 218s and a psychotiller enclosure.
I started with the split sym enclosure which was not ideal and then moved on to the altar wedge.
Then I put on 6 inch at wheels. I had to drill out another set of holes to avoid wheel bite.
When you say material removal in the corners for the Abecs - do you mean wheels or deck? How is that done on wheels?
No the deck. I’ll see if and how much clearancing the deck requires. I’m hoping that with the 184 hanger and 10-13 mm spacers (ill space the front to equal the rear pulleys and bearings), I’ll wind up with a wide enough profile that they don’t rub
Here’s some more pictures. Just received BN184s and just threw them on
The pics above were with a wheel width of 10.5“ outside to outside
This is 12.25” outside to outside with cags
I don’t think rubbing will be too much of an issue
Being that this is a drop deck and drop through with open tongue, I’m planning to do quite a bit of reinforcement. Picking up materials to add a few layers of maple veneer and maybe skin with CF.
Anyone have any good ideas for reinforcing the drop through hardware slots? I’ve personally had a drop through deck break (albeit a crap one) and have seen a few posts of guys who’s decks deteriorate there.
Thinking about incorporating some aluminum in the tongues.
My board comes in tomorrow. I don’t think I’ll have as much to figure out since I’ll be running 90mm hubs on this deck. Definitely down to do some reinforcement though!
