I leave my board on all the time unless I’m not using it for more than a day. I only turn my remote off when on the bus or getting a ride in a road cage.
I never use “prefer GPS” as it’s not recommended for esk8 according to the tooltip.
If I powered my board off every time I stopped using it for a moment I’d wear out the button/XT90 in a week no cap.
New bushings break in after the first couple of rides. If you were to remove your bushings and compare their height to brand new ones, you’d see a small height difference between them. Readjusting preload front and rear after the first / first few rides is something you should do.
Forgetting to do it/ not expecting needing to do it so early was definitely a contributing factor to my last fall, the main factor was bad geometry though, as I am usually quite comfortable riding wobbles on Dualities with lost preload assuming usual setups. With WFB cones in the front I pretty much lost most of my preload in 15 laps on track, WFB and cone shape are definitely both more prone to this than stock bushings though.
I ride for vibes - usually happy to ride with 15mph novices or keeping up with the speed demons, as long as it’s got a good vibe and i can carve.
Raph’s lonestar easily has 6k on it - probably more with knocking out 30-40 mile night rides twice a week plus snr and commute. If he put a mini in there to see where he ends up on the leaderboard… my feet are tired just thinking about it.
I’m still on the stock bushing setup, I didn’t change anything aside from making it 4wd. Gonna check the preload later, might need to increase it a wee bit to offset the bushing deformation.
I’m pretty sure he’s up there around 10 or 20k miles at least. He’s been running his V1 Lonestar since forever. During last CarvePDX he was making turns that most riders couldn’t with flip flops on.
That’s not too bad still. I can drain a 21s4p in 10 miles on 4wd. I don’t even need to be on track
Regarding bushings just happened to take a photo of a used one vs a new one yesterday. Both 0.75" wfb. So check your preloads after the bushings break in!
