Hi everyone i recently picked up a bkb xenith with a fried drv8301 chip.
I no this is doubtful given the shortage but has anyone got 1 kicking around they would be willing to part with? Or where i could possibly find one? Ive looked on mouser, digikey etc and there expected stock is 2023 which is madness.
Thought i got lucky on ebay with one but unfortunetly got a message saying they had calculated stock wrongly and cancelled my order.

Maybe a long shot but can you get the chip from a broken vesc?
If you have 1 laying around? The guy i got the xenith from ended up giving me a full refund and said i can keep it so result for that just a shame i cant get a chip to fix it.
I know someone with a couple dead vescs

Kool thats great. Hopefully fruitful. Not sure how easy it would be to remove one of these to be able to reuse it? From what ive seen they look pretty hard to remove?
You need hotair and patience, if you never done it before I’d get 2 or 3 DRVs 
If you don’t have any hot air soldering experience, it’s gonna be a doozy. Just wait untill 2023, it will be here before you know it 
I have hot air roof welding experience does that count haha. Id happily let someone on here do it if they had the chip to start with. Well if nothing comes to light ill sit on it. Its only for a second board so not exactly in a rush.
Not sure if there is any compatibility, but I have faulty a flipsky 4.20 plus.

That sounds like a tempting offer. I have just looked them up online and from what i can see they use a drv 8302 chip. Could you possibly show a picture of the front to confirm? Dont think they are compatible?
So reviving an old thread on the same board seperate issue 
The drv chip was repaired by a repairs shop, i uploaded new firmware and left it parked on the shelf…until now.
Im building a drift trike so this board was ideal. After finallising the wiring ive plugged the xenith/unity in plugged into vesc all working great. Done motor detection and it only picked up 1 motor. I went through motor setup and couldnt find the issue.
Then without warning the unirt disconnected from vesc all lights out and no more power. Nothing nada.
Ive tried searching google and here for obvious checks that can be done to diagnose but not really come up with anything, does anyone know of any checks i can perform with multimeter to check what the fault could be? Ive taken a good visual over the board and cannot see any obvious burns etc etc.

Btw i do have a spare drv chip but im not sure this is the same fault as last time i atleast had power.
… except this is a dual, so do that for each motor

So from this i have an issue with a phase wire but what does that relate to back on the board?
So digging in a little deeper it looks like ive got 2 blown fets on that phase, i dont think this would cause the no power issue though? Any ideas on what to test to figure that part out?

I feel your pain—these chips are impossible to find right now. Have you tried Aliexpress or Reddit groups? Sometimes folks there have spares.
I have a drv chip and can get hold of the mosfets fairly easily, ive now got the issue that 1 of the blown mosfetts are stuck solid to the board. Ill probs end up ripping the board to get it off so for now…ive shelved it
