guys loop key keeps falling out on my thane commuter. I’m sure this has been covered before but I’m lacking search savviness or something. Anyone have a solution here? I am using a maytech D100 so I think I can wire it for a switch too.
Sorry for the lazy post but I’m trying not to die on the way to work came out down a bumpy part of a hill today
duct tape
Lol that’s a weird one. Why is your connector so loose
Yeah usually I have the opposite issue – after epoxying in the male end, the housing is slightly deformed and it takes a lot of effort to push or pull the key out.
What I would suggest is making your male bullets wider by sticking a narrow screwdriver in the middle of each, to stretch them open a little. I believe the technical term for this is “sounding”. Don’t google that.
I hate that I know what this is without looking it up
I’ll sound my connector and go from there
I think it’s been falling out due to vibrations my deck is carbon/hardwood rolling on 100mm OG boas
This is another reason to why I wan them new fangled mad wheels
Did you use Amass brand connectors?
The only loose ones I’ve ever had were the knockoffs
The new larger ones?
Wanna get lunch today?
I’ll text ya when I get to work and see what the shit show is like
Ohhh yeah these panel mount ones do tend to be a little looser. I noticed this on a customer installation
yeah even after trying to sound them up a bit (hate that this is now the term I use for it goddamnit) the xt90 still backed out slightly today on the way to work. Not as much as it did before to the point where it comes out but still happened.
I think I’m going to look to swap to a on off switch, pretty sure I have one of the D100’s that you can do that on. Anyone got a quick link to where that process is detailed out on the forum?
I’ve never had that happen. Not even ever close. Perhaps the panel mount ones just aren’t as good as the other kind? Has this happened to anyone else?
Yeah they aren’t, I think the tolerance on the outside is not as tight as a regular connector.
The panel mount ones I have are super tight. That’s odd.
I do use it everyday almost
thats a lot of in/out on a carbon deck with thane wheels
it has gotten progressively worse
I have boards I’ve used every day for many years, and they are still tight. I have never used panel mount ones, though. (And it doesn’t mean just because mine are tight that all will be tight)
