Boardnamics M1 Gear Drive + Other News

Theyre not meant to be replaced but it is possible.
You can get it out with an arbor press. Without one, it is going to be a really tough battle.

Bearings are tricky because they require tight fits to run properly. This poses a problem for the “average” person who maybe doesn’t have a press or experience installing bearings. The annoyance of replacing them is an inherit characteristic of bearings.

I think I used a vice rigged with some wood shims to squeeze the bearing out. Sorry that I don’t have pics to better explain that, but if you have a large enough vice for the job you’ll figure it out.
I should mention that I replaced them only to find out that the motor was the problem. They didn’t need to be replaced.

Heat the gear up HOT

then pour some ISO on the bearing to cool it down. Then apply pressure to the out bearing race

Thanks for the explanation. I have sent you a message in regards to purchase a new part

Anyone have a pic using the M1-AT GD with 63100 on matrix 2 trucks? I think I’m going rear mounted on a flux board. Curious if they clear the trucks and what angle is needed.

I know that dual 63100s fit on Matrix 2 with Moon drives, so they definitely should on the slimmer M1 drives

I wasn’t using 63100 on mine but this is what 6384 looked like

Also, FWIW the drives are fixed angle now, so they should work. On my set, they were the first set of AT drives and have multi-angle. So what you see in these pics is some grinding where my motors hit the baseplate. I believe that got fixed

Ohh I think I tried… I can’t remember if I succeeded. The case bearing I definitely could get out. The case bearings were 2 for $10 and the gear bearings 10 for $10 iirc maybe other way around.

Does anyone know the size of the o-ring and where to get it?

These gear drives used sealed bearings not O-rings, you’d have to replace the case bearing if you wanted to change the seals.

street M1s have an oring that wraps around the wheel pulley adapter thingy

Weird, I must have missed it.

Speed ratio for helical coming soon ?? anywhere in europe/uk do the straight cut speed ratio like US site shows ? ?

The site is outdated, the speed 2.20 ratio is helical now.

What is the default helicals m1 ratio that’s been shipping over the past 6 months. The description of the drives says 2.78, but the helical upgrade says 75/29T?

It is 2.78. Website is in need of some TLC.

Hey, just ordered the m1 drive kit. What’s the turnaround for US delivery? Fsr I haven’t gotten anything except the pp receipt and no way to look up my order on the website I could find (I could be dumb though, would be on brand)
