@Boardnamics For the AT-GD on BN270 will it still be using the 10mm fixed axles? (specifically if using Superstars does it need 16100 bearings?)

Hey all, I’m having issues with my helical gear upgrade. from first installation to now, one side has been much louder than the other. i can’t figure out why. Please watch the video and tell me what you think

what’s an ipt?

maybe one is more greased up than the other?

The funny thing is the louder one has more grease. Red and tacky

I can just buy and answer for myself I suppose, already got a pending order lol.

about the pivot cups, so the older ones and the fixed baseplates use Cal II but now it uses a different Pivot cup?

It sounds perfectly fine to me there’s a chance that your backlashes aren’t exactly the same or one drive may have a tad bit more grease than the other. IMO I think your right drives backlash is just a tad tighter than the other drive.
I wouldn’t worry about it honestly, my straight cut drives will be weird and sound different every now and then too.
If they run well you’re a okay.

I had the impression these helicals would be quieter than the straight cut gears i had before. Im definitely doing something wrong because ive heard a video of someones elses being way quieter.

Ohh whoops those are Inventor files, not .stl files. .ipt are the part files from Inventor, so you’d need the software to open it (I used to have it, but not anymore). I will try and find the .stl’s asap

** I think these should be it:
BN Idler Motor Bumper - Right.stl (34.9 KB)
BN Idler Motor Bumper - Left.stl (34.9 KB)

Seach terms

Boardnamics
bumper
bash guard
idler
motor mount

Helicals are slightly quieter but still very loud compared to a belt drive system. Take them for a test ride and see how they sound under load. If you just got them they need to break in still

Do they have to be painted black? Will you offer them as silver? Maybe have a couple colours like davegas?
