Makes more sense since their is 4 drives, but seems excessive. Tighten that backlash
i set it to be a more on the loose end, around the same as my M1s
i also just did a light coating of grease, so theyāre almost raw
I canāt as I just assembled the gdās with my new motors and Iām dying to try them. But the crunch doesnāt come from the gd, but from the big bearing, which doesnāt roll as smoothly as it did before.
I will, i run my gdās with enough grease I think, i apply it, turn it and see what excess comes off from the gears.
On the other hand I run my backlash almost perfect, i get very little sound from the gears from free rolling.
Fairly certain these are just pics from the factory, from what Iāve seen they get individually bagged before shipping so they donāt get dinged
Could be wrong, but thatās my guess. It also seems to me from most factory pics Iāve seen that many factories use blue boxes lol
yeah I am not sure if they anodize inhouse but I bet they do the same wrapping with clear plastic that kevin does and he reuses it for shipping. Could be wrong.
From the ones i got, it seems like it gets anodized after machining, as I can still see the mill marks on my hangars. So any dings and scratches might translate onto the part when it gets anodized since thereās no further surface treatment like sandblasting before. A little newspaper goes a long way! Iāve been working in a CNC shop for the last year and I swear the amount of rejected parts that accumulate just from lack of foam or wrapping, is unreal
Arent we riding these boards in the street?
Das true, but somehow someway my trucks are still pretty mint. Perhaps i dont ride them hard enough
haha come to NYC
Or try my streets in Seattleā¦
Nah u wanna really dog out those trucks come to baltimore, those streets will eat those trucks for dessert XD.
Orders going out soon?
M1 AT Hypertrucks clamps
Just wonder, are you still have some of M1 spur pinion gear for 2.78 (that 23 teeth one) in stock ?
I took apart a my gears today to reapply grease and I found that my motor gear has been grinding against the housing and has created a moderately deep groove. Is there a way I can buy a replacement housing? Or is there another fix you can think of?
There was a ton of metal filings in the housing as well from the grinding.
How much loctite did you apply? what number? did you give it a week cure or 24hrs?
I would assume the gears are totally fine but can you take a pic if you can see any wear on them from that?
The gears are totally fine. I accidentally used the 271 I had. I will reassemble with 648 and leave 24+ hrs to cure.
