i hope the pom plates will survive 18s  :joy:

just a update about the straight cut , its sick !! i love them ! , i ride them at 12s for now but plan to use them on 18s , they are so loud i need to wear ear plug for the next ride!, no kidding  past 25 mph they scream so much i can alert people at 300 feet ! i really think 4.5 ratio will be great for street at 18s , let me know if you plan to produce them .

I’m thinking of putting a sound system on my helical gear board, so I can play genuine whine of screaming straight gears.

today i made my first ride with 18s and its to much for the 5.2 and the motor  i can’t keep the trottle for more then 3-4 second after i want to shit in my pants , still very fun with earplug but its also very funny to scare peoples , so i don’t need a horn no more even the dogs scare me , 4.6 is a better choice for long ride !

i never believe theses calc calculation , my real speed right now is below the result of the calc by 4mph

use @Shadowfax’s calculator then. it’s been accurate for me. The Ultimate esk8 calculator - with Force in Newtons

That’s what “Efficiency” is for. Adjust this number until your top speed matches what you get in real life on an existing build. Then use that same number for calculating your new build.

Also don’t believe manufacturer stated motor KV, measure it yourself. Some of my flipsky 170 KVs measure 151-155 KV…

Reacher motors in my experience hit the advertised KV much closer.

To measure it just turn on real time data in vesc tool, go to the screen where it graphs the data, spin it up unloaded to high speed and take a screenshot, KV equals ERPM divided by voltage divided by pole pairs divided by duty cycle. All these data you can read out from vesc tool and use it to calculate the KV
