PSA

The trampa precision hangar adapter for these gear drives has been discontinued permanently.

Does anyone have a set they can sell me?

Why did this happen? They will stop selling the adapter?

Has anyone heard from boardnamics recently? I ordered a bit ago and haven’t heard an update in awhile despite making sure it was all set to go.

Anybody got some tips for getting these drive adapter screws out? Trying to switch to the new ones. Can’t seem to get any more of them to release, even with heat. Also the adapter just spins when I try to loosen, makes it super annoying. Worried I’ll strip them…

Could put a clamp on the gearbox to keep the star from moving.

Did this. Seems to make it a lot easier. Although I stripped one :sob: any advice besides dremeling a place for a flathead?

Damn, sorry. Easyouts/any good extractor set might be the next step. Other option, sometimes you can pound an oversized torx into a hex hole
What loctite did you use on them?

Came pre-assembled… the residue looks red though on the ones I got out. Definitely doing blue for the new ones. Fuuuuuuck I hate stripped screws

If you’re going to replace the star anyways, then don’t hold pack really grinding down the screws.

I would phrase this as

gently tap a slightly oversized torx

:sweat_smile:

And heat. Be careful with heat tho, as it could easily melt the rubber seal on the big bearing of the case. One of those little jet lighters directly onto the screw would prob be ok

:rofl::rofl:
Thats much better phrasing
