Boardnamics Idler Motor Mount Help

Measuring, not calculating. How are you measuring speed when riding?

Link?

I got them directly from him, it’s on his site

Oh, using the well-renown “ride” app

Pffft. I thought you had done something special with a set… lack luster.

Hmm okay so no possibility of user error there (eg, using davega with the wrong gearing configuration)

What’s your battery setup like?

Running a 10s4p 30q

Hmm so sag shouldn’t be an issue either  Asides from making sure there’s no excessive friction of the wheels and drive, I’m out of ideas

When you’re at speed and let go of the throttle, do you immediately begin to slow down?

Yes, in fact I do! Not 100 to 0, but I definitely notice a speed “whiplash” reduction if you will when I release the throttle

The board jerks me forward a good amount when releasing the throttle. Could that allude to too much friction/resistance of the belt?

Do your wheels free spin when you hand spin them?

How tight do you have your axle nut?

Belts too tight and/or axle nut too tight.

Yeah, wheels free spin normally. I’m going to assume it’s the belt… a little too tight

Here’s how you can fix that.

  1. Raise you’re motor pulley

  2. Move the mount a little back on the truck.

  3. Add another spacer to the idler on the bearings side

  4. Add spacers to the truck axle itself.

You’re problem is that the belt is rubbing on the aluminum causing it to wear

Understood these

But what do you mean with this? Isn’t the motor pulley fixed in place?

Also buy a screw that has a smaller top profile like this

Ah okay. Gotcha. Move the motor pulley out to the right a little more

Also, you could but the new idlers from Kevin, they are really good and won’t hit the wheel
