Bluetooth trouble

I’m struggling with the phone apps and connecting to both sides of my vesc through BT.

I am using Yours Truly (also tried Xmatic), connected properly to the app, but when I set a new speed setting then write it to the vesc it only applies to the motor/side of my d100s connected to BT.

I’m sure there is something on this page or in the vesc app, I just don’t know where to look.

Anyone know how to diagnose or fix it?

Have you tried the official VESC app? (Android only)

No I haven’t, I only have an iPhone

It’s hard to determine if everything is ok with your vesc and your third-party hw/sw if you didn’t even check through the official SW.

Any issues when connecting through USB?

I would download VESC tool for iOS and do any changes through that to ensure it works properly**

**VESC hates working properly regardless of connection

Would my HMsoft BT module connect to the vesc app?

If you can connect to Yours Truly already, I don’t know why VESC tool would be any different. Give it a shot.

How likely is it that my BLE FW is just out of date? I have a d100s with the default FW, all I really want to be able to do is to setup different ride modes in my Yours Truly app but every time I try to “Write to Esc” the new top speed is only written to the side of the ESC my BLE is connected to

Hmsoft? Like an HM10? those haven’t been supported in vesc tool for like 5 years

Uhh I don’t think limiting top speed that way is a good idea with a D100S. Last time I did that and spun it up in the air this was the aftermath

Ya I think I need to get a new one, Amy recommendations? Is the flip sky one on Amazon up to date enough?

Is right in the vesc tool the best method?

I have one of those burning a hole in my pocket. I bought like 10 of them at one point, don’t ask lol. You can have it for the cost of shipping

That would be amazing! I’ll shoot you a message

Limiting top speed in any other way than limiting “max duty cycle” and “duty cycle current limit start” to be 10% below “max duty cycle” is unsafe.

The cons of limiting duty cycle directly is that the top speed is going to change throughout the battery charge.

If you know how to properly setup the modes and can add these two settings to it those also work, then you don’t have to change the setting manually each time.

As someone who has been limiting speed exclusively by limiting ERPM since 2019 i can’t confirm this.

Might it still be unsafe? Dunno not an expert. Did it work flawlessly? Yes!

Do not ever do it on a D100S because it will blow up the first time you limit top speed using ERPM limits and spin it in the air. I’ve used this method on other boards with good success. But it blew up my D100S.

Yeah just to be clear, i never owned a d100s. So it seems fine on others, can’t speak about the d100s
