Oh also, super edge case here, but I will be supporting 4wd Apex Jump Drives. I’ve got a set on @Sobrik3t that is in testing, once it’s done, they’ll be posted on the site as a separate listing.
Interestingly, the first version I made was only compatible with 8-inch tires (not 9-inch) due to where I placed them. Now, I did think the 8-inch version was a bit more protected (pictured below) since it sat behind the wheel line, but for the 9-inch ones, the lights do stick out a bit further.
Great idea, haven’t gotten to it yet because in my opinion, plastic is not strong enough for a gopro prong set
I haven’t secured a factory yet for the metal parts of my enclosures, but once I do I will definitely make a gopro mount for it.
I think there may be some out there already that might be able to work with an adapter though, I’ll look into it. Maybe some kind of universal gopro attachment that I could then attach to - if that makes sense.
A dry day and a commute day finally lined up so that I could take my RyanLights TM for a spin. Worked great for board mounted lights. Didn’t need a flashlight.
I’m planning to buy these for my meepo diy build, but unsure what mount to get. Are there any solutions to mount these without the custom mounts or anything that would fit the shredder trucks?
I can whip something up for you if you give me the dimensions!
I have an Envy and a V5, not sure if maybe the hanger is the same, but if you shoot me some pics and dims I can compare and make one.
For the record, the smallest truck I’ve fit these on is my DIY hummie, drop through mounted, with BN 220mm trucks, and 105mm wheels. Still fits, but its dang close.
Yes there is some, I recently broke one light off my prototype one, it needs to be re-spun. I also think they look pretty funny they way I installed them. Maybe I’ll have some time during my work leave to spin up a brand new design. I need to make a SCS order soon anyway
However, I have found that it is extremely helpful when riding at night. These are brighter and more convenient than Shredlights or shredlight clones, because you never have to remember to charge them.
Additionally, when mounted correctly, these provide a great angle to show the bumps in the road. When you combine this with a helmet mounted or handheld light, I feel it offers the best combination.
I find the low beam yellow setting on these good enough for 90% of my rides just because of that effect. When my travels transition to darker trails and whatever it usually more than enough to highlight the bumps and potholes but not so bright that i lose the long range view ahead.
I find it also convenient because i hate charging a million different things to ride at night and use primary cell powered lights where i can also because of this. Im often pretty scattered and just trying to get out the door when suddenly i get the opportunity to ride so when i had rechargeable lights i would occasionally forget to have them topped up and ready. Different strokes.
I like these lights better than the multi mode lights that are cheaper made because my cheap lights kept breaking after a little while then id have to fix em or replace them. These are kinda a one and done deal so far. I put em on and got them adjusted once 1000 miles ago. Less maintenance mo better. Even if they are hot as fuck after a a bit they just keep rockin.
I should ask @ShutterShock to beef up the thread engagement of the set screw on the m3 mounts though - my only minor complaint
