Gonna try these 6900 2rs Xike bearings out.
I’ll keep you posted.
I’ve been using FAG 6900 with no issues for around 500 miles thus far, but they are very pricey.
Anyone tried something like this? POM bearing house
i’ve used xike a lil bit, i’ve had very little issues with en
i tend to always open em up, clean em out, then regrease em to my liking and ive had 0 issues with water
Regarding ZZ and 2RS bearings, is there one that is inherently better for esk8 applications?
The differences are summarized in short here:
ZZ on the left, 2RS on the right:
I go with the sealed ones because of road debris, dirt, dust, and random water splash.
I imagine a strong majority of us use the sealed ones.
i thought the metal ones were better for a while (apparently less resistance) but they easily let in moisture and dust, + no way of opening them to pack them with grease. the rubber seals are sealed tight. i’ve opened old bearings and there was still a decent amount of grease left over, with the bearing in good health.
Imagine a drop of water sitting on the bearing, the metal one would gulp that shit up
hi phil currently what is the best bearing that you recommend to use with savage1?
@Juniorsilva2 It doesn’t matter what trucks you are using. What matters is the wheels. I’m pretty sure you are using Meepo, so that means that the outer diameter of the bearing will be 22mm, and inner diameter is 8mm, which would be a 608-2rs bearing that you currently have.
Savage1 TKP trucks come with 10mm axels, so you need 6900-2rs bearings.
Make sure any bearings you ever purchase, no matter the size, they always have “2rs” after the number. That means that they have 2 rubber seals, which you want, to keep water and dust out of them.
I would recommend 6900-2rs from Fast eddy, or Xike, they are cheap from Amazon. Like $10-$15 for 10.
The best bearings in my opinion are SKF, Nachi, or NSK, but they are like $20 each, which is way to expensive. Use the cheaper ones, and replace them after 500 miles or so.
Thanks man !
Wait…What jew call me?!
Lol
