Bergmeisters: Do I really need to go on a diet or why do I get flats?

That sure does look like a proper berg tube to me. I’m in Canada, so I think I’ll try ordering a few.
I’ll let y’all know how it works out. Kind of pricey tho.

I see a whole bunch of these, guess I gotta give it a shot - prices aren’t too bad! I will report back… Thanks for the tip!

6x2" Clever Tyres

Alibaba or potentially here: US: Clever 6x2’s, 47t berg pulley

Same here. They’re a flawed tube design. Use the aliexpress link below and the flats will nearly disappear.

I would. But those are in USA… Unless… Well I am too embarrassed to even ask… You already helped so much…:joy:

My bad, I thought he posted the Ali link where they’re $5.83 for each (tire + tube)

The tires are definitely harder than bergs but they break in well enough. And they don’t pop when you look at them funny.

Fake news.

:joy:

Man I knew you would pop by just to chime in.

Remember that time I came to skate with you and you hit flats on both rides with bergmeisters within maybe a mile EACH TIME?

Not to mention the dozens of other people hitting flats all the time. But yeah, fake news for sure

It’s a pretty easy scientific experiment to perform. I was getting flats all the time. I switched to new tires and tubes. I stopped getting flats all the time. Same other conditions.

12 flats over a period of 1 year… Enough said.

I only had 8 flats. I used the o-ring fix, deburred the wheel hubs, washed all the tubes and tires to make sure there was no debris, etc. Didn’t think having to slime or use a tire liner was an acceptable solution but I was very close to trying it until I swapped to the clevers. Rode for another full season with no flats before selling the board. I noticed many of my flats were in different spots on the tube, never consistent with eachother.

I hope it fixes your issues too :crossed_fingers:

Last and only flat I’ve ever had.

I stopped getting any flats once I raised the pressure to 55-60psi. Ride is considerably harsher but it solved it for me.

Well that’s too much for me. At that point it feels like PU wheels.

I’ve ordered 6x2 tyres so we will see how it goes.

have you tried these yet ?

Yes. So far so good. No flats.

How do they ride?

Definetly a bit harder than Bergs. It is a different profile. Much flatter.

So, yes you lose a bit of comfort, but at least you can ride for a while not having flats.

Some pics if you are interested how those look
