App

Look for the app cfg tab, you may have to swipe over as it’s to the right of the main menu screen.

Select the drop down that matches your remote input type (ppm is most common, some remotes use uart)

The drop down below that last drop down (hate how they do that) has options for general, mapping, and throttle curve.

General has the positive ramping time (time it takes from current remote signal to increased throttle position. Longer makes it smooth, shorter makes it punchy)

Throttle curve has the throttle curve adjustments. Negative throttle expo is what you’re after in that one.

You can do all this in the app now… I’m so behind lol

I plugged in one board 4-5 years ago to program on pc and have only used the app(s) since. Unity app was too nice and polished and is a prime example of what the basic version of vesc tool should look like.

Mofos looking at vesctool and not knowing what 95% of the settings do

Need an updated video of how to use the tool via the app. Last time i watched anything to learn how to use the program we were still on builders

It’s really not too bad as long as you don’t dig in the weeds.

Run motor detect wizard
Run input wizard
Change a few personal preference settings
Fuck about

I love weed(s)

I’m loving it right now

Yeah, I’ve pretty much never touched anything besides the wizards and fault time

Yep I’ll turn motor amps up too high, turn the thermal throttling limits maxed out, shorten fault time and that’s about it.

Hope this is the right place to ask. I have a stormcore 60d during a ride one of my motors stopped working. Since this happened I had thought it was the motor.
I have swapped the phase wires over ran detection and the motor spins fine it would seem the the stormcore is only running one the main side. Iv opened it up and can’t see anything wrong but here’s some pics hopefully one of u lovely lot can help. Or I’m throwing it in the canal.

Try manually copying the measurements from the good side to the bad side and see if it picks up for you. I had one esc that did the same thing; would fail detection but got it to work that way.

what ramping times would you recommend?

It really comes down to preference. Try upping it one second and adjust accordingly.

I have these errors while standing still.
Boards rides perfectly. Can’t feel a thing.

Any idea what’s the cause ?

It it when the board powers down?

Those of you with buck converters to LED’s in your boards - does the electrical noise from the buck converter matter in our application? I have very limited electronics experience so I don’t know if the noise from the PWM would mess with a remote signal.

If it is important, what do you do to manage it? Just have the buck converter farther away from the receiver or shielding of some sort?

I’m wanting to get some street wheels for my board, but don’t know exactly which pulleys I needa get and if I need new belts, I’m planning on getting the 100mm ingens. I know size of the pulleys can effect the acceleration and speed, but I just want a good mid size or whatevers good for 100mm wheels

What’s your battery p size? If you’re doing street a relatively lower gear ratio (2.25-2.75) is usually your go-to. What motor pulleys and wheel pulleys are you running right now?
