Battery enclosure and deck

So i messed up on my first diy build. I bought a flexible battery enclosure and had a battery built into it. However, i didnt consider the curve on the width of the MBS deck and now i got a small gap on the edges between my deck and enclosure. Its roughly a 1/2 inch gap. I’m pretty sure some thick insulation could fill the gaps. Any suggestions for material?

Don’t squish is that hard…?
I’m using pipe insulation foam and it’s working good ! But obviously you’ll need a lot thicker foam than rubber because of compression

Cool! Appreciate all the suggestions! I’ll buy that rubber neoprene!

Measure twice, buy once. Make sure it’s tall enough.
