Hey, y’all,
As some of you know, I’m the guy who built a boardup board for travelling. Specs aren’t amazing but the most important part is the form factor. Anyway, I’ve gone travelling with it already, have figured out what I need/want from it, and range didn’t really bother me but I did come up with the idea that I could do quick swap battery “cartridges.” That said:
- the battery in the board will always be a 10S1P; I think shaving off 400-500 g is worth it. After years of experience, I can tell the difference carrying the thing around
- drive train is DD; 20A per side, I’ve found this is a good sweet spot for this board.
- the board is NOT for long rides; probably ~5km the furthest in one go. It will be folded and carried past that…until the next point where it will be ridden again.
I need a bit of nudging into either direction on deciding which cells to use, believing I’ve found the best source available to me without an ABN here in Australia (we’re a real place):
Which cell should I use?
- 20 x P42A at AU$11.56 per cell
- 20 x P45B at AU$18.45 per cell
That said, I’m also open to other sources (links welcome). I do not have an ABN.
