Oh damn, about $350 more than what I paid for an 8000 but probably worth it for all the tuning capabilities haha
Your using something to kee the pack rigid⌠right?
Nuc24F! Oh GLE Bac8000 edit
Yeah I have also wondered about this.
If he isnât then thatâs scary dangerous, Iâve seen a few of those big surron packs literally slide apart. Most of the guys use either cell holders or they seal the batteries in acrylic/metal tubes
Could you explain a bit more about what this means? Iâm having trouble picturing the issue.
Ya doesnât really make sense to me either. I imagine he wrapped it in some fiber tape before heatshrinking
wait @DEEIF did you look? There was a whole post with it all wrapped up in fiber tape before being shrunk
also how would they âslideâ apart with heatshrink on, that stuff is quite rigid when shrunk
The repetitive jumps etc makes the glue/epoxy/weld break and loosen over time because the whole pack is absorbing that damage instead of just the cell holders or case. You end up with two halfâs of one battery when you pull it back out. From what Iâve seen itâs only happened to a prototype litespeed pack and an old NakPack
I didnât see it fiber taped, wasnât looking that closely tho
Scroll back up and look lol
Idk what the standards are for these packs but it looked pretty strong to me
It looks fiiiiine, should be alright⌠Not perfect but itâll do and I bet Art will fix any problems that may arise.
Awesome battery builds dude!
Extremely strategic fiber taping in a sort of interlocking manner. Think lattice. I doubt some rope and a few trucks could split this pack in half, the biggest concern in slow wear and tear from vibrations and possible rubbing against the battery cavity walls in the surron. My customer is also planning on lining the sides of that cavity with a thin layer of CF for puncture protection. I check in daily for a while with customers that get something as ridiculous as this to make sure itâs running like it should and to address any concerns I or they might have in how they are using it and how to best protect something like this.
Also for something like this I started using some really high quality fiber tape, stuff has to be cut, no way to tear it.
I dont know how I feel about those two strips of tape lol, was working pretty late last night probbaly going to take them off and redo the heat shrink. I donât do many bricks, but I am staring to love doing them
That BUILD! great job bro, I bet itâs going to be fun little death rocket
6 bricks according to how much one brick weighs.
HV can be more efficient since the current draw is less. Should make up easily for slightly higher Rds on
