You’d have to solder the XT30 to the DC port when its already in the enclosure, but then yea
how I should connect my balance wires when adding 2 more lipos in parallel, here I’ve spliced them into the original (ignore rest of harness)
that would be “paralleling through balance leads”
which while highly unadvised is technically possible, with only identical packs to start.
what is the right/safe way?, I will be purchasing identical packs
only unadvised because it will be a lot of live leads, 2x more than normal. All hooked up all the time.
Most people who run lipos like to not have a BMS onboard, So then having double lipos balance wires hooked up to a BMS is quite far from the simplicity of none. only trying to let you know why that route is not commonly seen.
alright cheers, is there a term for this seperate bms charger, I can’t seem to find anything with those keys
Any lipo charge usually has a balance function. Or @least the ones I’ve seen so far.
Look for lipo balance charger
ah right, yeah I know about balance chargers. I thought I saw someone make like a balance charging brick type thing with a bms inside that charges all at once? that’s what I was thinking of
Its definitely doable. Most just find it easier to have the charger do it for them.
But you do you lol.
I honestly just went with bullets and they worked fine, also will secure them so they have a less chance of disconnecting
Yes you can do this but the down side is you need to convey all of your balance leads sin the main battry leads every time you want to charge. Most of us have the BMS built in to the battry and leave it there then you only need to conect to the BMS charge port that is only 2 cables
have you got a diagram of this or picture?
I solder bullet connectors to automotive fuses (with silicone wire) because I lost trust in the fuse holders I can buy online. They often have very bad solder joints that cannot handle a full fast charge.
